Montana vs EWU

I disagree to a point, Jason ... It really wasn't a terrible call. Senior who has made big shots all year (think Indiana game) and Montana wasn't expecting him to get the last shot. Obviously they were playing for Harvey to get the last shot. Kelly was wide open. Just missed. I'd take Kelly taking that shot any time. He'll make it most of the time.

I do agree that Harvey's shot selection is awful ... but that's how this team has thrived. They play loose and take some questionable shots. When they go in, we win. When they don't, we lose. It's that simple (fortunately and unfortunately)... That's what you get with a Hayford-coached team...

Agree on Harvey Jim. His wild shot selection doesn't always hurt EWU. They truly live or die on the 3 point %. Just wish, when the game is on the line, he would be more selective. We needed quality shots down the stretch and he frankly, didn't provide them.

On Parker, Yes, he has made some HUUUUGE shots for this team. I just wont ever agree that was a good shot. I would take ANY kind of drive to the bucket. I just don't think a fade away shot from that range, and a Catch and Shoot was needed. Could have ran a screen if you wanted Parker to shoot the shot. Just was so disgusted with that play call. To me, it really felt like Hayford wanted Parker to be the star on Sr night.

I was shocked to see Harvey not get a look at the end but Kelly has hit big shots for us all year, it was senior night, and he had a great look. It was the right call and we had a good look.

As for Harvey and his shots, he hits a lot of those off balance bombs, he's just been off lately. He found his groove in the 2nd half against Montana, and his last 3 was half way down before it rolled out. We don't have the record we do without him...

Should be a fun Big Sky tourney...

As for Parker's shot....hindsight is 20/20. If he would have made that shot we would all be talking about what a great play design it was and how smart Hayford is for going to Parker instead of Harvey or Drew when everyone expected that's who would get the ball.

This is coming from a guy that agrees with what you are saying. I think Hayford should have let Drew or Harvey drive to the hoop because it would have given us the possibility of getting fouled. That's what I personally would have called.

As for the shot itself, Parker just missed it any I'm sure he'd be the first to tell you it wasn't his best shot ever. He probably makes that shot 70 out of 100 times so I'm fine with the shot. I'd trust Parker with that shot again. Go back and count how many clutch 3's that kid has hit for us this year. I've been at almost every game and I can't even remember them all there's been so many. Not to mention one of the biggest shots in EWU history. All I ask is, what if he would have made the shot? Would anyone be questioning the play call??? Same with the superbowl for that matter (somebody brought it up in an earlier post). What if that pass was complete? Wouldn't we all be saying what a genius Seattle's OC is for throwing on the goal line when everyone was sure that Lynch was going to get the handoff? In sports, sometimes the play works, and sometimes it doesn't. Once again, I agree with what's being said for the most part. I would have called for a drive to the hoop, but I would also trust Parker with that shot again.

We probably won't be hosting the Big Sky tourney but that doesn't mean we're not going to go dominate the tourney anyways!

LET'S DANCE BABY!!!

go eags!
