Week 8 Bracket

I feel this is pretty accurate like our seeding obviously.

These brackets are based on the FCS polls that are a joke. The two problems I see, which is based on games I've seen, are the Cats are more likely to be seeded in 5 than the Griz and ISU will be in the playoffs. After they beat the Cats there will be a new found respect which they deserve.
I can easily see the Griz losing 2 of their 5 remaining games and possibly 3. The Cats have CP after their bye and ISU and the Griz, I could see them losing 1 maybe two of those games.

EWU v Coastal would be great, Villanova would make an awesome championship as well.

I also agree that MSU will end higher than Montana, and ISU will sneak into the playoffs.

If we drop a couple games without VA playing and have to go into the playoffs unseeded we're probably not a team that many squads are going to want to play in the first round once he and our other injured guys make it back.

With the pair of DII's on their schedule, they probably have to beat MSU and win out.

I agree that ISU is good enough to be in the playoff bracket. I think if they win out, they have a good chance. The Griz will have to drop a couple, though. On my challenge, I picked Cal Poly over Montana.

The makeup of the bracket may be possible, but there is no way our side of it would not include Montana State, Montana, or South Dakota State. As an aside, the Griz still need three more wins to become playoff eligible, yet somebody has them as a 5 seed? They have five games left with three on the road (Poly, EWU, SUU) and two at home (Sac, MSU). Would a seven win Montana team get in? I doubt it. So they'll need to win four of five down the stretch. This last month will be interesting.

I say again, the polls are a joke. Most voters have no clue other than what Montana used to be. And the fact that Idaho State is not even in the top 25 is ridiculous.

The tournament committee seems to do a pretty good job year in year out in seeding and who gets the at large berths. IMHO polls have little impact on the committee who reviews strength of schedule and quality wins/losses.

Agree ISU should be in the Top 25. Their schedule doesn't help with the their SOS. Only play two of the big three (EWU, Mont & MSU)

Will probably have to run the table and beat CP @ home & Mont St in Bozeman to get an at large berth.

This is my unofficial, subjective, and driven by few statistics predictions for the remaining top teams in the BSC.
I think the outcomes of games for potential playoff teams this weekend are:
EWU > UND
CAL POLY > MSU
NAU > WSU
ISU > PSU
SAC ST > UM

So, following this weekend my predicted standings are:
EWU 5-1
Cal Poly 5-1
NAU 4-1
MSU 4-1
ISU 4-1
UM 3-2

Remaining schedule and outcomes:
EAGS destroy UM, and PSU and finish 7-1
MSU beats PSU, loses to ISU and beats UM to finish at 6-2.
Cal Poly loses to ISU and beats UC Davis to finish at 6-2.
ISU beats Cal Poly, MSU and WSU and finishes at 7-1
NAU beats UC Davis, UND and SUU and finishes at 7-1
UM loses to EWU, SUU and MSU and finishes at 3-5.

Playoffs: 4 BSC teams in.
NAU wins the auto bid but is on the road in the first round.
EAGS get first round bye and home field advantage.
ISU is on the road in the first round.
Cal Poly by beating MSU is the final BSC team in and on the road in the first round.

beating UM without VA might be a tough one. they are still a pretty good team.

We will beat UM without VA. Cal Poly would have scored even more on UM if they could have completed some passes. UM's secondary is suspect and have not played a true passing team yet. This weekend Sac State will expose them and it will not be pretty.

Our coaches will make the necessary changes to help Jordan West with his reads and his performance will improve dramatically over last week. As for next week, the UM game is never easy but I am confident the EAGS will win.

Do you feel we are a passing team without Vernon?

He was referring to SAC vs UM. We don't know what kind of offense we are going to be against the Griz, yet.

Yes I do believe we are a passing team without VA. Inexperienced QBs struggle (VA struggled early too). I am fully confident the Jordan West will become more accurate and will read defenses better. I believe the key is for the EAGS coaches to not expect JW to run the same offense as VA. I believe they will make significant adjustments to help JW and his reads. A big part of being accurate is confidence and decisiveness. When you aren't confident in reading the defense it affects your entire psyche.

Also, the EAGS effectively ground it out last week against a pretty stout defense. I really think UM's defense is only average and they simply have not played (except for Cal Poly) any productive offenses.

We are a pretty tough team to beat at home, but to win the Montana game JW is going to need to play significantly better than he did than in the UNC and NAU games. He has got to stop locking onto receivers and has got to start making some of those downfield throws. Hell, if we aren't able to stretch the field some tomorrow, we could be in trouble.

I don't think CAL Poly is very good, they won't beat MSU. I also can't imagine Montana losing at home to a team as bad as Sac State. The other predictions look correct to me.
