We are a week out! The Bears showed a lot of improvement last year almost beating Colorado State and South Dakota on the road. Ed Lamb is a good coach and I think this is their first night game…so they will be ready.

First game for Coach Kjar at the FCS level…a lot of unknowns, but I think he will bring energy and discipline that was sorely lacking. From what I read and hear, I am optimistic about a turnaround.

It would be nice to step out with a W but like Hill's first yr with the Wildcats, the bringing on of "energy & discipline", being competitive & spirited, will give positive vibes to fans even if not. Excitement level is up!

I'm just glad to see a coach wearing purple for a change, a good look starting out.(y)

I feel like our offense is going to be fine. I'm hoping the defense will come along as well. I just want to see improvement from what we have been over the last couple of years. I feel that we will see that. There is certainly a more positive vibe around football and basketball this year. There are always questions with new coaches, but like what has been said here, the energy and discipline seem to be there.

I also agree that UNCo has been getting better over the past few years. They will be a good test for us at this point in the rebuild.

Glad I’m not the only one who is glad to see the coach wearing purple. I’m hoping the team moves away from the black uniforms and keeps primary to the purple and uses the go W helmets.

One thing I’m already impressed with Kjar is that he could break down statistics of his offenses at Corner Canyon (run/pass breakout percentage) and would give specifics of what he wanted to improve on and what they were doing well. Mental would give the coach speak answers with no specifics. I also like more local ties to the program in regard to players. I think that was part of the reason for the decline.
