OFFICIAL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP GAME THREAD

And now there are two! Great game against Vanilla. I just knew that they would leave the Inferno with red faces to say the least :D

I hope the guys go into the NC game no worrying about a thing, only playing Eagle football like they have all year. No time to be intimidated by the game or the significance. I have no doubt that if the Eagles play their game, The Eagles will be the 2010 National Champs... I am praying that all play a great game and stay healthy throughout.

GO EAGLES FOR EWU, CHENEY, WA, AND THE BSC....

WE ARE ALL VERY PROUD OF YOU!!!!!..... :!: ;)

All, I talked to an employee in the Athletic Department about tickets to the NC/Charter Info, Tickets etc..They will not receive any information until Monday. With that said, I guess the athletic department might be forced to purchase 1,000 tickets (EWU section) weather they can sell them or not. It's an NCAA mandated deal. EWU Athletics is hoping that as many EWU fans as possible purchase tickets through the EWU ticket office and not go through the NCAA/Frisco/Etc. In addition, they said there will be travel packages available that the NCAA puts together that includes, flight/hotel/transportation/tickets, etc....So stay tuned to GOEAGS.COM on Monday. Spread the word to Eag Nation!!!

Unless it is something completely new, the NCAA doesn't do travel, though most schools have deals with particular travel agencies that operate game packages.

From DE, you can get a self developed package including a flight from PHL to DFW, hotel for a night and rental car for just under $400 person.

Southwest from Spokane to Dallas is 274 RT.
Rental car in 51.00 for 3 days.
Hotel 150.
Winning the National Championship... Priceless!!

Congrats!! Great game on Saturday, Nova was one team I didn't want to see in the NC this year. You have a lot of folks from the Big Sky cheering for Eastern to bring home the NC. I hope a huge group of Cheney fan make the trip to the Lone Star state for the game.

Your team deservers 5000-6000 fans at the game, they've worked their butts off all year and it would be a travesty if the town didn't get behind them and support this team. There are a lot of 1AA teams that will never experience what its like to play for a 1AA championship, don't take it for granted, it could be a once in a lifetime opportunity. So, borrow from your retirement fund, sell your childrens Christmas presents, sell your plazma and sperm, do what it takes to get to Texas for the game, you won't regret it. Go Eagles!

Georgia Southern grad/fan here - Congrats to both teams on the championship appearance, but I'll be pulling for the Eagles!!!!

thanks cannonball! Us eagles gotta stick together!

What is up with Bison fans? I mean, I'm sure there are some good ones out there, but the ones that frequent message boards are the biggest dicks in the world. Nearly every post by a Bison on this board is some negative bullshit about our field, beating them, guys getting hurt, how we'll never win again, etc.

I suppose they are just looking forward to the day UND passes them by... it won't be long now that the team in the vastly superior conference rises above the team that gets pistol whipped by Northern Iowa every year...

There are some ok ones. They do seem to have some real tools on the boards, though.

NDSU had a decent team. I do think that the weather turning to crap really helped them in the second half of that game. I've never seen so many ball possession issues as in that game. Clear weather and a healthy TJ for the entire game, and I don't think that game would have ever been close. But props to them for a good game. We did get a couple of calls go our way in that one - but all were reviewed, so I don't know what else they want.

Enough about that, though........this is the NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP game thread. ;)

Thanks for the great insight.

#1BISON = Ashley Schaffer = Alphagriz. Go away, idiot.
Good call, FF4L! He's such a douche bag. I like most of the Griz fans but could never figure out why so many like Alpha (and his lame alter ego Ashley). It's no coincidence he's using the Ashley moniker on his Bison account.

EDIT: oops! Sorry, not NC conversation...

Does anybody have much of an idea what the schedule is looking like for the coaches/players over the next couple of weeks? I know they are getting a few days off for Christmas but other than that I haven't heard. I'm going to try to meet with one or two of the guys in the next couple of days and see what's up, but for now I'm curious what others know/have heard.

http://www.spokesman.com/stories/2010/dec/21/more-to-practice-than-prep/

"The Eagles, according to Baldwin, will practice this afternoon and Wednesday morning, before scattering for a short holiday break. Players will be due back on campus on Monday, Dec. 27, with daily practices scheduled to resume the next day.

The team will fly to Texas on Tuesday, Jan. 4, to begin final preparations for Friday’s 4 p.m. title game that will be televised live on ESPN2."

Also of note, this link i found on the gohens.net site (thanks to those guys over there for posting that!) http://www.ncaa.com/news/football/2010-12-20/fan-central-fcs-championship

It mentions practice schedules. I'm told we are the home team for the championship game (black or red unis, I'm a fan of the all black ones)

Yes, let's go with the black - they look the best out of all the color combos we've had the past couple of years.

does anyone know if we're bringing the band/cheerleaders/Swoop? I heard there is some sort of battle of the bands thing that is supposed to go on. Right now EWU is only taking one charter flight, and it's full with team, staff etc, not even room for major boosters. I heard there was talk of a second charter for ewu people only, maybe that's the band and cheerleaders though.

It'd be kinda lame not to have the cheerleaders and band there - I'm assuming they're going. On another note, when do classes begin for winter quarter, and how is that going to effect the team and any students that may be potentially going?
