ONTO BIGGER AND BETTER THINGS!

I was told to call back on Monday because they'll have returned tickets from other teams allotment.

Any plans on putting more seats up? Temporary bleachers on the wings of the building?

Just an FYI, your school is going to lose a crap load of money by hosting this tournament. For the right to host this thing your school has to pay the Big Sky Conference upwards of 100k. And since you can only sale 3,000 seats, well do the math and your school loses BIG money. Yes sponsors can help but that is a pretty big number to make up. Good luck.

Thanks for the concern, and valued suggestions. My math says UNC will be able to kick out a 100K stipend, and still have bank left over just from ticket sales.

That's before all the concessions, etc. and without regard to at least a small economic impact for the city...

looks like little ol' UNC is ready willing and able to host, so from now on you Webers and Montanas, if you want to host the tournament, you must win the regular season!

Big Sky also gets a rather large cut from ticket sales in addition to the 100k. Plus how much you charging for tix? Just so you know, there are only 2 schools that have hosted the tourney in the last 15 years that didn't lose money. Montana and Weber, everybody else has lost money.

I really doubt that my friend. We were real close last year and we have a pretty good nucleus returning although they will be young. But the future looks good!

Dude, all it is with you is sour grapes. Get lost.

I really don't think aj is trying to be condescending. Seriously, you all need stop being so damn defensive over everything. It's a well known fact that the schools that host these tournaments generally lose money. I even think Weber lost money the past two years. But thanks in large part to the required fee, the conference makes money. That's part of why I'm opposed to conference tournaments. They're mainly just a cash grab for the conferences. And as for next year, UNC will definitely have its work cut out for them if they want to repeat. They lose 4 starters, including Beitzel (who will probably and should be conference POY). Weber loses 2 starters, but get Lillard back, Montana only loses 1 player, and E Wash will be much improved.

The tone of his posts aren't cool. We know we have a small gym, we know we will lose money, etc. Let's get on with it.

As far as losing talent, yes we lose a lot but we've got some nice young players as well. I'm not saying we will repeat at champs, but finish in the top 3-4.

This conference is easy to figure out. Montana invented football and Weber invented basketball and the rest of us just need to be really impressed that they would agree to play us twice a year.

All I have to say to the doubters is please continue to talk shit and talk down to us. We have a chip on our shoulders and we love to be underestimated.

Clearly you are a little sensitive about being called "small", must have struck a nerve.

I love it love it love it!!! It's funny because all of the insults from weebs and mu implicitly are even bigger insults to themselves. Their facilities and tradition and blah blah blah are so much better than ours but they still can't find a way to beat this crappy little directional school with crappy facilities and crappy fans and crappy __________________(fill in the blank)-- sure doesn't speak too well about them. Now they're coming on here to give us advice and insults thinly veiled as compliments. Saying things like "congratulations sure hope you can keep up the tradition." Their way of pointing out how superior they are. They are so distraught now that they have resorted to saying how facilities should dictate the right to host instead of record! Classic!

That's funny, I agree, it's suddenly become an arena buulding contest which is one step below who has the biggest penis contest.

I've got (mostly) nothing but love for the Weber State fans I've talked with over the years. I love the passion they bring and consistent support given to their Wildcats. But....some of you are coming off sounding like you belong on the egriz.com football board. Give the Bears their moment in the sun. They deserve it. Facilities (ahem...my arena's bigger than your arena...ahem), recruiting budget and crowd noise/size certainly help but games are won by the college kids and coaches on the court.

jjjj - I have some unity to spare for a fellow inferior "directional" Big Sky school.
