Their facilities and tradition and blah blah blah are so much better than ours but they still can't find a way to beat this crappy little directional school with crappy facilities and crappy fans and crappy __________________(fill in the blank)-- sure doesn't speak too well about them.

jjjj - I have some unity to spare for a fellow inferior "directional" Big Sky school.

Thanks Mt Jack! I'm sure you guys hear the exact same insults that we do and I'm sure Eastern W. I would rather be the small fish in the big pond than the slightly bigger fish who thinks he is a big fish, I'm not gonna mention names (NDSU, Weber, Montana). We traded in NDSU for Weber and Montana.

As an aside, regarding EWU's football national championship, on egriz they are all sour grapes about it just like we've been getting over this conference championship: lack of fan support, lack of facilities, etc.

Classic! I was looking for a picture just like that to post earlier but got sidetracked. That's all I've been picturing when I read the crying from the weebles and jizz.

yeah, I was starting to have a lot of respect for Weber and their fans until b-ball started and then they turned all griz fans. They've had a lot of success with hoops and it looks like it has got to their heads.

I've got (mostly) nothing but love for the Weber State fans I've talked with over the years. I love the passion they bring and consistent support given to their Wildcats. But....some of you are coming off sounding like you belong on the egriz.com football board. Give the Bears their moment in the sun. They deserve it. Facilities (ahem...my arena's bigger than your arena...ahem), recruiting budget and crowd noise/size certainly help but games are won by the college kids and coaches on the court.

I hear you. You'd think these Weber douchebags would get a clue, that it's not ALL about how big your stadium is or how many fans you have. It's about who has the better team on the basketball court. Sure, having big stadium and a lot fans LOOKS nice, but its not going to when you championships. Hell, it got Weber 3rd place. I too actually liked some of the Weber fans, but they just turned into some hatin pricks.

Just an FYI, your school is going to lose a crap load of money by hosting this tournament. For the right to host this thing your school has to pay the Big Sky Conference upwards of 100k. And since you can only sale 3,000 seats, well do the math and your school loses BIG money. Yes sponsors can help but that is a pretty big number to make up. Good luck.

This will be your first and ONLY time to host, so good luck.

Clearly you are a little sensitive about being called "small", must have struck a nerve.

Gotta be tough for one of the Big Sky elite teams to see us win the regular season. Only human nature for a few of their fans to vent. Needless to say, they will all be UNC fans if we meet Montana. I say we let them vent and hopefully we are the last team standing in the end.

Just got my tickets and I can't wait for Tuesday! GO BEARS!

That is awesome. I am soooooo freeeeekin' jealous.

That being said, if they make the Big Dance and end up in the DC regional, I am there (if I can get tickets of course).

Yeah very happy I have friends that are still in school. Otherwise I had no chance of getting a thing. The rest are completely sold out!

I guess ajwildcat is not a math major. 2000 tickets at $50 each = $100,000. Add in the courtside tables and seats plus the 400+ east side seats at $30, plus parking and concessions - UNC won't lose money.

Not to mention, if it helps us make the Big Dance then it will be well worth it.

Looks like Jay/UNC got a sponsor for the Tournament (http://www.uncbears.com/sports/mbkb/030411bannersponsor" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

That should help with the cost as well. This is looking more and more like a win/win for UNC.

It's actually a compliment they come on here and hate on us. Before we were the dorky little kid down the street they would laugh at and push around but over the summer we grew up, started pushing them around and slept with their girlfriend (or in the case of Weber fans we slept with their wives) and now all their old preconceptions are gone and it scares them.

I am very proud of what our athletic teams have been able to do in this short time (Volleyball Champions, mens and womens basketball competing with the best of them ). I would love us to be respected for our success and not despised for our arrogance (see Montana). Looking back on the NCC, I hated NDSU like I hate Montana and for very similar reasons. I respected UNO and SDSU much like I respect Weber State and EWU now.

The Big Sky is a really nice fit for us with some very cool and diverse teams.

Well, isn't that a comparatively small and insignificant Medical Center with regards to those common to the cities of the larger conference schools??

 They probably paid us in Monopoly money.

A couple ofthoughts: NCMC a small and insignificant medical center??? Are you kidding me??
I too hated NDSU in the same way I dislike Montana. I respect their building winning programs but they can keep their arrogance and I can remember when we started beating NDSU on the football field and it was awesome and it will happen with Montana also and it will be freakin awesome with that first win in football, and I don't think its too far away !! Go Bears at BSC Basketball Tournament

jars was kidding about the NCMC comment.

I wish I could find the old attendance figures at Jackson field. I remember it being just mobbed the season we beat NDSU in the early 90's. I thought it was like 12k.
