OK, this is how it’s going down.

The EAGS defense will blitz immediately and the black bears less-than-nimble QB will force throws down field like he did against weber for an early interception. Chris Ojoh and Mitchell Johnson will torment the teddy bear’s QB relentlessly, forcing multiple interceptions. The EAGS DLine will squash the Maine running game.

On offense the EAGS will take advantage of the teddy bear’s press coverage and our tall, fast wideouts will have a field day against the slower, shorter corners of Maine. Maine will continue to press cover which will open the middle seams and the EAGS tight ends will make big plays up the middle. Maine’s DLine will be exhausted from chasing Barriere and McPherson will run wild.

Can get on board with this plan. Go Eags

Forecast is calling for SE winds still blowing @ 10 @ game time and diminishing slightly. Hopefully that is not enough to hurt our passing game. Micro-weather in the stadium is usually worse as winds out of the south funnel right down the field. YIKES!

Isn't it always 10 mph minimum in Cheney? Think a little more wind works in Eastern's favor. Ferguson throwing fades in 15 mph sounds like a pick opportunity to me. EB3's arm is legit. BTW, Custer is on the two deep again this week, hadn't seen anything on Pierce and the OL is intact. No Williams on D. Townsend has played up and the depth on DL is impressive. Keith Moore isn't listed behind Tiuli, Caleb Davis is but Moore has played alot and with great intensity. Feels like the 'ol switcheroo..

Enjoy the game and bring home a win :D Go Eags!

Halfway there RJ.. :-)

8-)

 Aren't you at the game? Wish I could be there. What a start!

I was there! It's been years for me. Absolutely incredible performance by our team.

Happy for you and the team! Could have been a 70 spot. OL dominated, Maine looked slow and wasn't sure where their safeties were the whole game... Too many superlatives :-) I declare all the predictions of an Eastern victory today the winners...

We certainly have had no shortage of coverage and commentary this week and I think I have consumed most of it. Most of what I believe has already been said. I definitely think EWU should be favored at home but the spread is nuts.

Here is my Friday prediction: I think Maine's defense plays lockdown D for the entire first half and we score on the strength of Ferguson's arm. Something like 21-7 at the half. Then offenses heat up a bit and trade scores in the second half.

University of Maine Black Bears 35,
Eastern Washington Eagles 21

That didnt work out so well for the MBB...

Should be a great one in Cheney.

Being completely wrong doesn't make someone a bad person, right? "strength of Ferguson's arm" "Maines defense plays lockdown D"   "35-21"

Whew...

Anybody else notice Maine #60 on the O-line and # 47 linebacker constantly looking for a fight? To me they were really chippy to the point of unsportsmanlike.

Thuggish... Officials could have put a stop to it early with one flag, several incidents happened right in front of them. It looked like Coach Best saw what was going on and his response was appropriate. Eags really picked it up early and it seemed like Maine's poor behavior sparked some of that. Eag's were ready to play.

We had a lot of injuries away from the play late in the game on D too.. Wasn't clear on TV what happened. #60?

Just to add the chippiness for those that weren't there.... Prior to the game during warm ups our players gathered in the endzone on our corner to break and head to our end to warm up. Maine players moved towards our huddle and started hooting and hollering, clapping their hands and flapping their jaws. Our boys didn't back down and lots of arguing and jawing ensued before referees ran down from the 50 to break it up. Again, as we left the field Maine players followed our guys out of the back of the endzone jawing and yelling. Perhaps they would have had more luck playing in the parking lot.
