This is our first year for the scrimmage game on the 26th and looking for advice on the tailgating situation. Is the upper lot open to all for tailgating? I purchased a tailgate spot for the season but don't have a confirmed spot as yet.. Thanks!

tski60,
I noticed that some personnel are also tailgating in lot #9, that is the lot where you would enter the gate where the tickets are sold, closest to the Round Dorm, in that area. Also Upper lot is the lot behind the Football Field, where lots of tailgaters are tailgating. The only thing I don't like about the tailgating, are the amount of young children there having fun, and not paying attention to the traffic in the area. I literally crawl when I got to my Special Parking area. Just have to be very careful in the area. Call 509-359-4339, reference your tailgating spot. That is the only number I know, follow the directions on the phone. One thing, the lady that works in that area is always there, she is very dependable. p.s. my taught and love go out to the personnel of Oso, Wash. As of last night there were 33 deaths, so sad. We will say a prayer for all involved. God Bless all. Vic Wallace

Thanks for the info Vic! And thanks for the message about the Oso mudslide victims.. they have recovered the body of our dear friend and of his mother, stepfather, wife and young son. His youngest son is still missing.. we pray they can recover him soon and they can all be buried together.

This will be our last spring game. I can't say that I remember seeing a lot of tailgating going on but, hey, why not?! I think a lot of folks' energy is saved for the party after the game. At least mine is. Vic doesn't drink so I do it for him...!!

Dozy,
You, talon38, and the crew from the West Side can have my drinks anytime. I think what have kept me from drinking, is seeing my Dad back in Saint Thomas, Virgin Islands, the way he drank, come home stoned, bloody, when I got ready to go out at age 10 to try and whip somebody butt for beating up my dad. Come to find out my dad was falling and blooding himself. My dad used to tell me after I grew up, how proud he was of myself, and youngest Brother, he served 25 years in US Air Force, in Legal Office, (he now lives in Vegas, Sin City ;), I serve 20+years, between flying as "Airborne Radio Operator" and later to Police work. Not bragging, but something I am very proud of, and with children coming in 1958,59,60,61,63, 65,76, couldn't afford it. Notice first 2 were ladies, 2nd 2 were men, 5th, lady, 6th man, 7th, lady, "What a DUDE? ;) ;) ;) Two born in Miami, Fla, 2 born in Plattsburg, NY, 5th, In Puerto Rico, 6th in Valdosta, Ga., and my little lady Chris in Spokane, WA. She doesn't like to be called my little daughter, she corrects me and says, "your young daughter". Now all of you knows part of my life history. :) :) :) Take care!!!!! Vic Wallace

Dozy,
As I have said numerous times, 4-5 years comes, and we lose our away families. Once Dylan and the next year Seniors leaves, they will be greatly missed. Remember Dylan would be (waiting for practice to start) ask me, Vic do you have a girlfriend? I told him no, and there are some many beautiful women at EWU, and surrounding areas, but none impressed me, no one can replace my late beautiful wife. He respond, "Vic you sounds like my Grand Dad". Dozy, he never walks by unless he comes and hug myself and daughter, or shake our hands, you can be very proud of him. I remembered when he first came in, he was like (a pain the butt to the other players), and the next day he came out with his recruit hair cut, when I saw him he told me they even threw him in the shower, he took it all in great strides. I will always have some "Outstanding Memories" of my time being affiliated with Eastern Washington University", and our Students, however long that may be. That is something I am very proud of. Had my beautiful wife lived, I may not have know the students and friends we have made, here at EWU. I see a lot of former Players in the Spokane area, and they are always happy to see us. See you and all on the 26th, Red White Scrimmage/ Dinner/Dance. My books are getting longer each time. :) Take care.!!!!! Vic Wallace

Rjones61, The Red/White Scrimmage is free to all. Just have to pay if going to the Dinner Dance after Scrimmage. You would have to purchase before the dinner/dance. $100.00 person, but I can honestly say there will be lots to eat. We have a walk on from C. Idaho, RB, that young man looks great. I think his name is Reece Maittay(sp). Team is coming along very well. Coach Sawyer really worked the Defense yesterday, everyone seemed ready for the season. Take care. Vic

Vic;

Thanks Vic. Definitely can't afford to go to the dinner, but I will watch the scrimmage for sure.

clawman,
The RB in question is Mario Brown, that young from C. Id, Reece Mintah? #29, is very impressive to me. We stayed for the Track Meet, which started at noon, and saw our Freshmen helping with the track meet. Isaac Anderson, DB, Mo Roberts, DB, also made a pick today, William Lopez, TE, Lauren Wright, WR, and Tevin McDonald, all sat up in the stands next to us. We were all laughing at the moves the Id RB made on DeLando Tucker, causing the Official to throw the flag. :) :) :) Now will relax until Tuesday 4 p.m. practice. Vic

clawman,
#86 as you inquired about yesterday in practice, I think is Austin Flynn. I think he had a brother here, didn't work out, went to smaller college. Checked with the Sports Mind, my buddy, he dug it up for me. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Vic

Yes, that sounds right.
 You're the man VIC, thanks!

No updates from this past weekend's scrimmage?

I see Adams had 3 td passes, 2 to Kupp and 1 to Bourne...Looks like Bourne may fill in nicely with Clark's departure.

Any other info from those who were on hand?

marceagfan5,
We saw some great individuals on Saturday. I don't think we will miss a step from where we were last season. It is going to be very scary for our opponents. W/O giving away any of our secrets. These young Players will be great. Nic Sblendorio, WR, he runs some beautiful routes, as our other WR. Coop is in a class by himself right now. Aaron Clark, WR, I am very much impressed with him. He is from Summner High, same school that Rocky Hanni OL came from a few years ago. The RB Brigade are going to be great. With the addition of Samuel Mintah, from Franklin Pierce HS, and Reece Mahaffy, from Coeur d' Alene High ( I am very much impressed with him, he cuts very well, and runs very hard. I think that is enough for now. Vic Wallace

To All New Season Ticket Holders,
Paid Ticket Manager for my seasons tickets the end of last month. She stated they are going to try something new this year, at our scrimmages they will try to have tickets at the functions so individual can check and pick them up. I think she said it could be sometime in July if not before. Welcome to all. Swoop my younger brother lives there in Sin City, he retired from the Air force, he used to run the prison there, he give it up. He now works at some hotel there especially where Celene Deion (sp) performs. You cannot miss him, he looks like a "Damn Big Giant ;) ;) :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: . My Granddaughter also lives there she graduated from UNLV in Hotel Management, she now works in that field. Good Luck to all. Like VA always says, "God Bless & Go Eags"!!!!!
EAT YOUR HEARTS OUT YOU VA HATERS, we love him, and BTW he looked awesome on Saturday. The Quarter Backs are hitting their strides. This Saturday 10:30am will be another scrimmage, show up and get your opinion of the Team so far. Vic Wallace

Could be wrong, but I think Blair Bomber is the guy labeled to be the new slot receiver ala Ashton Clark. I think Kendrick Bourne is going to be more of a true wideout, replacing Cory Mitchell.

Vic,

Looking at making the trip this weekend to see the scrimmage, watch our eldest play for the EWU baseball club against U of I, and celebrate our youngest for his 21st. Will be a whirlwind trip, getting prepped for the following weekend. Loving spring ball!!! See you this weekend.

this, I see Bourne as more of a Edwards/Herd type wideout, although we will still have Cory for another year. Bomber should be the slot guy for '14.

Vic, thanks or the scrimmage updates. I was in Cheney last Saturday to visit my daughter for family day.
I had hoped to catch some of the scrimmage but we didn't roll into town until noon My wife and other daughter went with and my older daughter had to work late Friday night so we didn't hit the road until about 7:20, although I was ready to go at 6:00. Hope to catch up with you sometime. Will be there Aug. 23rd. I asked my daughter if there is any student talk about the SHSU game and she said she hasn't heard a word. I hope the school promotes it some before school gets out!
