Remaining Hires

IIRC, Strandley used to coach TE's and could be moved back if needed there.

That's kind of like having to rob Peter to pay Paul. I'd rather the defensive staff remained intact. The offensive crew is a complete overhaul anyway.

Coach Butorac has been a great addition to the staff. Stay patient, Coach Best will build a great staff. Lots of coaching talent connnected to our program. Coach Graham will be missed but he has earned some time with the family and with the hunting dogs. Hope he coaches again soon.

Those positions can be somewhat interchangeable. With Ena coaching the DE's there's some overlap on the DL already. I just brought it up because there's flexibility in house depending on who's available for hire and what positions they are experienced in.

I'm going to guess they'll hire Brightful, Roos, Kaufman and Cwik to fill out the offensive positional vacancies.

FormerEag,
Take Joey Cwik off, he is now a Doctor and has offers to come to this part of the Country. His Brother Chris is now a Qualified Fireman in Cheney. I spoke to him on Saturday night during the Men BB Game against Southern Utah. Spoke to Coach today, he stated he has some names available. Vic E. Wallace

OC/QB:Jon Eagle? Who you got?
OL: Roos. Please! Probably Butorac (Which is also great!)
TE: Overbay
WR: Kaufman or Kirby Moore
RB: Jesse Chatman

Make it happen

OC/QB. Brett Jay (Hanford)
Dipping into the HS ranks again?
I actually don't mind this one bit most of the creativity of offenses comes from coaches in the HS ranks anyway. As they have the freedom to do more creative/crazy things. Have no clue who Jay is, but Taylor worked out just fine. Always looking for a edge and something fresh.

It's been a long time, but based off of when I knew Kaufman personally, I dont know if he has the characteristics that make a good coach. He would need a lot more experience to come to Eastern and as far as I know, he has none.

Now that Best (liked his presser) is leading the way we need an O.C that is an experienced leader who gets our type offense. He'll have the best QB in the FCS with a bevy of WR's/excellent RB's and one great O-Line in the making..maybe a few tweaks is all that's needed. This is a big time hire and will dictate our success going forward so make this your best hire AB!

I know Brett a little and he is top shelf all the way through. Super good guy and has won wherever he has coached.

As cool as it would be to have a pro bowler on staff, I don't see Roos opting into the life style of an assistant coach. Those guys grind hard for peanuts.

I think you're right. I really don't think any of these are realistic. Just throwing some fun names out there. It will be interesting to see how everything rounds out.

Because someone was a good player at a particular position, does that make them a good teacher? Motivator? Coach?

I know this is a gag list but most of those guys don't coach.

The only couple that would be really intriguing to me would Eagle and Overbay. Does Nate Coach these days?
