Sac in the WAC

SA Montana isn't going anywhere. You can put your mind at ease. They are awaiting their MWC invite that will never come.

I know, I was just venting. The post had more to do with my mood at the time than anything else, however, IF they EVER move to the FBS, I will gladly print my last post and eat it at a Hornet tailgate for all to see, taking pictures will be permitted :) .

Interesting read, question the source.

"When the MWC was formed the CSU Chancellor Chuck Reed was very upset with SDSU accepting MWC membership leaving FSU & SJSU to an then uncertain future. It came very close to the CSU making major funding cuts to SDSU.

If the PAC10 moves to expand and that expansion affects the MWC/WAC Chancellor Reed will insist that SDSU/Fresno St./SJSU are paired into any final conference alignment that results from the PAC10's expansion moves, bank on it!"

Makes sense, bring SDSU back into the WAC, but the Aztec's have an athletics budget of $34m, a good part coming from the MWC. SJSU has $18m and FSU is at $28m on athletic budgets, big disparity in teams funding. I say SDSU stays put.

Seeing as there are ZERO CSU's in the Pac-10, I don't see how this Reed fellow has any say or pull in what the Pac-10 does. If anything Reed can hope that the MWC adds more CSU's, but Fresno is their best chance. I think he is bitter because the decision by SDSU to bail on the WAC and the other D-1A CSU's completely paid off. With the MWC vying for BCS membership, no way in hell SDSU leaves that conference voluntarily.

I keep forgetting that we don't have the smilies that FCSFans does. I wanted to have the clappy thingie. SD is dead on target here. Reed is a dumb@$$ if he thinks he has any real pull over what conferences do or don't do.
