Sac to the WAC? Is this a serious thought?

My bad Wildcat. I saw the lights thread and assumed they were new from scratch. Regardless, night games or day games, win or lose people still won't show up to see WSU play (which is a shame, WSU has been solid the last few years). And yes a WAC invite is indeed WACky, but if a conf commish is going to name drop us in the media there is no reason why us Sac State fans can't explore that opportunity.

NOCat, we are merely speculating replacing BSU as a conference member, not their media following that they will be taking with them to the MWC. I was pointing out that the media market in which Sacramento resides is a sizeable option and opens up a new outlet for the WAC and its product to be televised and marketed. And again, media markets and TV contracts are what drove the recent realignments (and in the case of the Big 12, a reason to not dissolve). The Pac 12 didn't go after Colorado because of its top ranked football and basketball programs, it went after the Denver media market. Utah and its SLC media market is also a compelling reason why they were invited as well (yes I know Utah has been solid in bball and football and is big reason why they were invited). I don't understand why this reasoning is incomprehensible for you. It's all about money and nothing else with the conference realignments. If the WAC feels that they can been more financially sustainable with PSU or Sac State, and the school presidents also feel that way, there is no reason why either of those schools will not be considered for an invite.

ajwildcat, will Sac State leaving the BSC really make it stronger? So now how will the BSC schools schedule in a recruiting trip to talent rich NorCal during the season with Sac State no longer on the schedule? It would sure help with travel costs, but as far as the other sports are concerned, the conference will be losing one of the more competitive (and well funded) athletic departments in the conference.

since we dont hate sac we should try and be a little nice to their fans. afterall the sac fan was just trying to say that the wac was the one saying they are interested in sac state. the sac fans never said they were dying to get out of the sky or that they are too good for the sky.
