This is a great opportunity to lift the spirits of the team. We should be able get a win as long as the team can put the past behind them and regroup. We need a good showing from the students! Does anybody know who is in charge of marketing on campus? It would be nice to see some signs or flyers!

Sac had SUU beat and choked it away in Cali. This is a MUST WIN game for Weber as it will be one of the few they will be favored/expected to win. GO WEBER!

Sac is struggling right now, (yeah so are we) but I honestly think this is our opportunity to get back on the winning track and start getting some confidence back into this team. A nice home crowd would be nice too, they are giving out a lot of free tickets to the game up here on Base so hopefully people get bored and head on up to Stewart Stadium this weekend.

Lets GO WILDCATS

This is a game Weber State desperatly needs to win if we want to have any hope of having a good season record wise. I'm a little worried that people won't be showing up to this game, but hopefully they remember the last home game (50-40) win and come out to support. I think having the Utes have a bye week this week could help a little bit...

Agreed with SWW, totally a must win for the Cats. Sac is a weird team. Who knows which team is going to show up in Ogden this week. I'm sure Sac is feeling the same pressure to win this week in Ogden. Weber has to bring their A game and make some huge strides from where they have been the last couple of weeks. Biggest area of concern? Receivers!! It seems as if they don't know what they are doing. They keep running the wrong routes, and when they do, they can't hold onto the ball. I don't know what the issue is, if it is the coaching or if our receivers just stink. Chip, does have a really hard time seeing the field and his options, but he usually only has a couple of seconds to make a read so if it is a timing route then the receiver and QB need to be on the same page. Time to make Chip the starter and go forward. It seems as if the coaches had that goal from game 1.

As for Defense, well, time for new schemes!! We keep playing a defensive scheme that doesn't fit out personnel. MAKE ADJUSTMENTS or get a new DC.

That would be funny, in a really sad way; more coaching turnover 4 games into the season. :shocking:

Okay, so, I think Weber wins this one. Well, at least, I hope Weber wins this one.

Sac St., like Weber, has been maligned this season. Sac needed OT to pull out a W against a really bad NAIA Southern Oregon team, but took SUU to OT last week. On top of those two games, they lost to ASU 55-0; not 70-7 and 70-6, UGH! And we can all agree that SUU is a decent, if not pretty good team. What does this say about Sac St? I have no idea!!!

Sac St is a huge wildcard. Do I think the Cats can win; sure. Do I think they will win; maybe. Do they need to win? YES! Weber, according to WeberStateSports.com, is playing the 34 hardest schedule in all of Division I football (FBS and FCS included). McNeese State, might be one of the best teams in FCS, and is getting billed as being a top 100 Division I team, and the Cowboys are only ranked, when the Wildcats played them, #12 (where are they now?). Weber still gets to play #2, #6, and where ever MSU falls to. Cal Poly and SUU aren't push overs either. In 2010 this would have been a great schedule and challenge for our team. Not this season. Oh well, what does Weber need to do to win this game? Fix the defense, and get a QB who can command and lead the offense. We need our receivers to get their Shiz together to. At the friendly confines of Stewart Stadium, I'm hoping to hear the bell late Saturday night. I think it can happen.

Well, I'm certainly hoping they can get the ship righted this weekend. I don't know much about the Big Sky, but Sac St. seems to be the team to do it against. For the most part on defense, we seem to have momentary lapses of judgement (or lack of recognition) that leads to big plays. And on offense, there is absolutely no continuity.

This should be a game where the offense can get on track. Sac. St is giving up 450yds per game. 280yds in the air. Maybe we can see this designed "high power" offense get back on track this weekend.

I'm ready for it!

That's pretty scary. Looks like we'll have to be patient and see how this season plays out. As long as there is continuous improvement, I'm ok with that. Heck, I'm used to bad football being a Jacksonville Jaguars fan

Yeah, the offense, after the SFA game has been anything but explosive. I remember when Pflu took over at UM. It took his team a full season to figure out his offense. Once they got use to it though, wow, they really started moving the ball. The game against UM in 2011 was ugly for the Cats. UM put up some serious points on us. I'm thinking that might be the case for the Cats too. Just give it some time, and a chance to get the right personnel for the system, I'm thinking the Cats should be fine. It has been anything but tough for the Cats to work on their offense. It would be really smart to play a DII game early next season, if the Cats haven't worked out their system by the end of the season. Curious, who will be our 12 opponent next year.

Hahaha!! Being a Jaguars fan is tough. I'm a Skins fan, and so far, this season has been unpleasant at best. Don't worry...catcat is a Raider's fan.  Catcat = LOSER!

I'm thinking our Cats should be victorious this weekend. Tough game, but it'll be a good one for our team. This is exactly what they need to right the ship, so to speak. :kisswink: Keep Chip as the starter, and keep developing the team. I'm really worried about our offense, but nothing like I'm worried about our defense. The defense has been pretty bad. I'm hoping for improvement. 43 is better than 70.

This game should be a real gut check/ reality check for both teams. Hard to get a good picture of how good/ bad both teams are are considering the uneven schedules. In the last two games our offense has come alive and appears to be back on track. The defense has played well at times but have hurt themselves by stupid undisciplined penalties. I would disagree that Southern Oregon is a "really bad NAIA team. They had lost two games in close shootouts, they have offensive skill players that could start in the BSC, their QB Austin Dodge is great.
They averaged over 600 yards a game last year and beat Eastern Oregon 73-20 Saturday. Stupid penalties
by our DBs kept SOU drives going for scores. The game shouldn't have been that close. The Hornets outplayed SUU most of the game but gave it away on the final drive, again with repeated blatant penalties. Once SUU was in the red zone we intercepted the ball twice which would have sealed the game but both were called back by roughing the passer calls which I think were bogus, thanks BSC Officials.
Lets hope both teams play a good clean and safe game Saturday, may the better team win!

We won at SUU last time. We have never won in football at Ogden......until Saturday!

You mean Saturday of two thousand never

I think the coaches and players realize that losing a winnable game at home would be disastrous. After 3 brutal road trips I can't imagine the team not being prepared for this game; they should be focused. I see a high scoring affair with the Cats pulling away in the 4th QTR. I say we win by 11 with the ball in hand and a knee on the ground.

Dude, you had me dying. Just lose er win baby.

On another note, I'm looking for something the family and I can do when we get in Friday; only been there once - this past January. Also where's a good spot to get some Wildcat gear other than the campus store?

Your best bet is to head down to 25th street or the Junction on 23rd and Washington for things to do. As far as Wildcat Gear the book store is your best option for a wide selection of gear. However other is a Dick's sporting goods store in Layton that has some WSU shirts, otherwise there is a Sports Authority that has a few things or at the game the will have a booth and trailer with bookstore popular clothes and gear.

Head to the mountains. Beautiful time of year with the leaves starting to change colors. Might I suggest a drive up Ogden Canyon with a stop for food or ice cream at The Oaks. And if you have time continue up to Monte Cristo or Snow Basin and over Trapper's Loop. And make sure you take time during the game to view the sunset from the stadium. In my opinion it's the best setting and views in college football.
