I thought it was a cheesy touch, but not too noticeable, so not horrible.
The handle itself has a big red ball on the top of the handle with EWU logos over it so that's cool.
Overall though the scoreboard is great. I personally feel that it helped encourage the fans to respond to big 3rd downs and big moments (something our fans have had problems with in the past). Well done EWU Athletics. Well done!
Honestly, we still have the absolute worst, most uneducated fans in the country. During the 4th quarter, the student section was on their feet for defensive plays, but even during 3rd downs late in the game, almost the entire upper half of the grandstand was sitting down...knitting. hno:
I'm calling bulls$$t on that last statement... I was in the upper half of the grandstand and we stood and we cheered and we are every bit as hoarse as all the students. I'm getting a bit peeved about everyone complaining about how horrible fans we are ... Is there room for improvement, YES! But as recently as 5 years ago, we earned the scorn of other fans who supported their team by being crappy fans and letting them turn our stadium into their home away from home, but in case you didn't notice, the red/black greatly outnumbered the maroon yesterday and we didn't leave early when things were looking grim!
You guys have voice left?
I'm gonna have to side with calm. Although there were a good handful that stood up and got loud, the vast majority did not. I don't understand how our fanbase, a good portion of which are also Seahawks fans I would presume, doesn't know how to get loud. I'm pretty sure Kalm wasn't calling you or our fanbase horrible fans, but there is a lot left to be desired in regards to vocal fan support when the other team is on offense.
I'm not calling anyone on the board out. I assume most that post here bring it every game. I've personally seen Vic do back flips at games before and he has an injured lumbar region.
Stamp collecting conventions, competitive bee keeping, Wii bowling leagues at the senior center, and funerals are reminiscent...that's all.
