Senior Highlights - Uncommitted Players

I agree. But, as I've said in other threads, if you go after kids hard enough I think they'll come to your school. I know Eastern is in the top half of the big sky every year, but I think UNC has a lot more to offer. Not only academically but just overall.

Except the blinding red turf, we don't have that.

Eastern is a funny example, they just won the national championship but facility wise they don't offer anything more than we do now so the fact we can even go toe to toe on recruits with them is a good indicator.

Anyone paying attention to recruiting in Colorado Springs? Kid at Pine Creek? Kid at Mesa Ridge? Athletic linebacker at CS Christian?

Dakota Ridge WR Derke Vander Velde of Littleton, Colorado will trip to UNC this weekend.

The 6-4 190 pound wideout, who snagged 57 passes this year on the way to an All-State season, has a brother that plays on the UNC baseball team and a sister who played soccer at UNC.

Along with Vander Velde, Arvada West receiver Sean Leslie will also make the trip to Greeley this weekend.

Very good news indeed. I don't think we have a perfect complete list of everyone who has committed, but at least the Trib will have one out Weds. afternoon on line and Thurs. in the paper. But at least things are shaping up.

Looks like Cassidy Curtis from Cherry Creek is staying with his original verbal and will be playing for Eastern Washington.

Could be something popping up with (QB) John Cabot of Torrey Pines (Arizona)
http://rivals.yahoo.com/ncaa/football/recruiting/player-John-Cabot-95204

Only two scholarship offers from Idaho and UNCO, and it sounds like he "Can't see himself going to school there (Idaho)"

Edit: Also not sure if posted yet but according to ESPN, also considering UNCO:

Corey Ayers, OLB, 2 Stars- Grade 73. 6'0" 193 lbs. Legacy HS (Colorado)
Tyler Rutt, OLB, 2 Stars- Grade 72. 5'11" 190lbs. Hamilton HS (Arizona)
Dan Stornaiuolo, OG, 1 Star- Grade 65. 6'5" 300lbs. Sacred Heart (California)

Looks like he's interested in walking on at an FBS team. He hasn't even visited UNC.

Corey Ayers is out of play - going to CSU Pueblo.
Corey Ayers, a 6-1, 205, OLB, out of Legacy HS has committed to CSU-Pueblo. In addition to offers by Chadron and Fort Lewis, he also had offers from FCS schools North Dakota, Valparaiso and NAIA schools Sioux Falls, Concordia, Kansas Wesleyan and Nebraska Wesleyan.

Cabot is going to take the preferred walk-on route to Penn State:

According to the San Diego (Calif.) Torrey Pines football web site, quarterback John Cabot (6-4, 205) has committed to Penn State. Cabot had an offer to be a preferred walk-on at Penn State ...

New name in the mix:

All-Conference and All-State 2011 athlete John Tidwell of Rangeview High School in Aurora, Colorado has two college offers as both Northern Colorado and Weber State want the speedy CB/WR/KR to join their programs.

Tidwell was one of Colorado’s leaders in interceptions posting eight picks for the year.
