The BIG Bears are Coming!

It was a scary start, but most think we're finally improving. But this year more than any in recent history, all of the BSC is potent - you've certainly moved from bottom-eaters to a respected team. It should be a great game on October 25. Or, we'll blow you out. God only knows this year!

I am certainly looking foward to this game more then any this season. UM comes in after a blowout win against Suck St and we are coming off of a one touchdown lose to probably the best team in the Big Sky, a team who destroyed Montana. I doubt it will be a blowout by any team. I just think UM at this point has too many weapons for us to beat them. I'll say UM 27, UNC 17.

Montana fans are classless for the most part but the problem is that our team sucks ass and will do nothing to shut them up. By my calculations, Downing's record at UNC will be 3-32 after this season! Goodbye and congratulations on being the worst coach in over 100 years of UNC football! Good luck finding a job

BTW that's funny that Dagriz said we have a "respected team."

Hey Griz, Washington State called, they want their uniforms back. Maybe Texas will let you borrow theirs again.

Thanks for the heads up. By the way, the Montfort kids want their field back.

Funny, because on the National FCS message boards, I find the Montana State fans much harder to deal with. It's a toss up between NDSU and Montana State for me.

I don't think the Griz fans are classless. NDSU fans are by far the worst. PSU fans are a close second but thank goodness they have shut up since they went in the tank.

I'm going to hold out hope that last week was an aberation and the offense will show up again on Saturday. I don't think the Bears will get blown out at home. I think it is probably a close game. If the defense can come up with another 4 turnover game and the offense shows up UNC could upset the Griz. I think ultimately the Griz probably have a little too much horsepower though and they win by 7.

Montana is the gold standard in the conference so of course they will have that swagger. Their fans are numerous and so they seem more overbearing. I think it's hard not to have arrogant fans when you that successful.

If we play up to our capabilities I think we can hang but I don't think we are at the level to knock them off. But it's a home game so hopefully we catch a couple breaks.

If I had to pick a score I'd say something like 31-17 Montana.

Thought you all would like to see this:

I see this UNC team as easily the most talented one the Griz have seen in years, however they're very undisclipined, as you can see they've given up lots of games with turnovers or mental errors, they're prone to penalty, and cannot capitalize in the red zone. Is it youth or coaching? Tough to say. If this team plays a clean game, and as a complete unit - lookout, they'll be all the Griz can handle. However if they play sloppy, turn it over a bunch, and get a lot of penalties, then the Griz should be able to handle these Bears. Saturday's extended forecast calls for mid-60s and sunny, so crappy weather will presumably not be a factor.

That's really well put.

I've been watching Montana this year, this is not one of their best teams in past years. They are fairly solid on offense, but if you shut down the pass and QB keeper, they will not beat you with their running game. They commit a lot of penalties.

On defense they are fairly pedestrian. They give up a lot of big plays, and seem to be weak against a good passing attack.

It is a game UNC CAN win if we play disciplined football.

hey da griz are you coming to the game Saturday?
We often travel with the team and have been to every venue, having finally made it to Greeley two years ago. Sorry to say that even with all the Griz there, game day wasn't all that inspiring. I'm sure that as your team improves, local interest will increase making it more worth the trip.
