The Big Sky Tournament 2017

This third seed could be a blessing in disguise. The other side of the bracket is much more talented with North Dakota, Montana and Idaho. EWU is the only squad who Might be better than us on our side. Might ...

It'll be a tough slate but this team can do it. As long as they play together...as in team ball.

In my opinion there are at least 6-7 teams capable of winning this thing. Also don't sleep on Sacramento State, they could be dangerous.

GO WILDCATS

Big Sky Tournament Bracket

Tuesday March 7th

Game 1- #8 Portland State vs #9 Northern Arizona 2:35pm
Game 2- #7 Sacramento State vs #10 Idaho State 5:35pm
Game 3- #6 Montana State vs. #11 Southern Utah 8:05pm

Thursday March 9th

Game 4- #1 North Dakota vs Game 1 winner
Game 5- #4 Idaho vs #5 Montana
Game 6- #2 Eastern Washington vs Game 2 winner
Game 7- #3 Weber State vs Game 3 winner

Unless something goes terribly wrong for the bobs, I figure we will be playing them on Thursday night. I just don't see the T-Birds having enough fire power to beat State. But, I'm not very worried. The bobs just don't match up very well with Weber. Randy was able to use a number of different rotations and for the most part succeed. Granted, it is hard to beat a team three times in one season. I don't see either Sac or ISU beating Eastern. So, if Weber can get past the bobs, I do see another game against Thumper and his Eagles on Friday night. While we match up really well against MSU, we don't match up well against Eastern. That'll be a very hard game to win. We can do it, but it'll take a team effort.

On the other side of the bracket. It could end up being North Dakota, Montana, Idaho or even PSU if they get hot.

Eastern Washington +400

My predictions haven't been worth a crap lately, but I think NAU will win. They have been playing fairly well lately and PSU has been inconsistent. If ISU or SUU were to win, it would be a huge upset. However, this is a neutral site. Anything can happen.

I got PSU beating the Jacks, though out of the first round it should be the closest and most entertaining game. I think Sac handles ISU and MSU struggles with SUU early before pulling away in the 2nd half.

MSU should beat SUU. However, this is a very interesting matchup. Both teams have a high scoring 2 guard who can drive or shoot. Neither team is dominant inside, although, SUU may be deeper. MSU has more overall talent on the guard line, but is not a good rebounding team. The questions are; Can SUU dominate the paint?, Can MSU create enough turn overs to overcome bad rebounding?, Can SUU stay with MSU's guards long enough to slow them down a bit?, Can SUU's 2 guard score enough to match MSU's guard line?, and Which team will have the motivation to get it done on a neutral floor? I want to see this game. :coffee:

Portland State pulling away late now, up 10 70-60 with about 3 minutes left, NAU showed a lot of grit but is running out of gas fast. PSU most likely gonna get that date with North Dakota.

Hard game to watch. Neither team played well. NAU had their chances. Too many stupid mistakes. PSU tried to give them the game a couple of times. When they didn't take the gift, PSU surged.

Worse team to play for Weber is Montana State (but looking like we will) we beat them a few days ago so we will automatically think we will do it again, hope we dont get complacent.
