They do leave shooters wide, wide, wide open on the outside. They are a good offensive team, but I wasn't overly impressed with MSU's D against them. As far as zoning them, they do have some good outside shooters, including one of their big kids. Knowing how much we play zone, I just don't expect to see it. What I do expect is a lot of switching and helping with Onwuasor.
At the end of last nights game, Onwuasor and the rest of the T-birds looked totally drained. They were laboring to walk up the floor. They put everything they had into that game. It is going to be interesting to see how they might recover, sleeping in a noisy, smoky hotel casino. They are young athletes and their bodies recover faster than any of ours would, but there is still a significant recovery when you push your body 40% farther than you usually do. The other significant issue is mental/emotional recovery. That is where the environment is not the most beneficial for them.
We should be fresh and ready to go.
Last year, in Reno, the smoke and loud party noises kept me up until 3:00 AM. I was only on the 5th floor, so maybe if you were higher up in the tower it wouldn't be so bad. It took me two days to detox from the smoke.webergrad02 said:oldrunner said:SUU's D was very soft last night and they were when we last played them. Okay lets hire 5 or 6 families in ReNO with small crazy children to occupy the rooms directly above the Tbirds. We will give the kiddies unlimited cotton candy and have them go crazy for the next 36 hours. Or we could just bring a portable PA system to Reno and have Rob Alexander blow into the microphone every time Onwuasor takes a foul shout. It worked pretty good when we played the Tbirds last month.
