Tournament match-ups set

Kilty - If I bring you some Miley Cyrus and Hot Dog Huff fatheads will you put them to good use?

I think that UND was the best draw of any of the higher seeds. They play selfish and their coach sucks. I think Sac has a very real chance of winning that one. Northern Colorado has NAU's number, but NAU appears to be playing better. I am going to go with NAU. Montana Vs. PSU is the game of the night. These teams battle.

By the way, Jon Reed went to UND and follows UNC closely as he lives close by. His picks are usually unbiased, but there are a few times when his analysis of UNC is more in depth because he sees them live more.

I will get to all the first round games, good Lord willing. All the games are pretty close.

mtgriz said: Then weber will most likely beat the griz on the fact they only played one game and um played two. And its tough to beat weber at home. Weber wins by 10-15 I think.

Last year's BSC tourney, I think this was true for Weber- played a listless NAU in first round, then had a down to the wire game with UND on Friday.....3 games in 3 days wears on the players. No time for prep and little for aches and pains from the season.

I do hope that mtgriz has it right: Weber wins by 10-15 !!

Go Wildcats!

Here's a question:
pretty sure I won't be attending all 3 on Thursday. How would you rank the 3 games in terms of interest?
I'm thinking
1. NAU v NC
2. ND v Sac St
3. Mont V PSU

I'm taking a half-day off and will be spending it in the best way possible; I'll be watching all three games.

I really like all three match-ups and my level of interest matches how you have them listed.

3) UM and PSU have gone to OT twice already so I'm hoping for a hard fought game on a neutral court. I would (and I guess am) picking UM to pull it off because of experience and coaching.

2) I like SACs chances in this one. If they can keep Huff at bay without throwing their whole defense at him I think they're playing well enough to get the win.

1) I'm picking NAU in this one. NAU is playing well right now and should have some momentum from the win at the DEC. UNC is an OT win away from having lost 9 of their last 12.

Anything can happen, though, and probably will. The most important part is: GO WEBER!

I should be at every game on Thursday. Definitely looking forward to watching some basketball. What makes this so much fun is the fact that the Sky is balanced and that Thursday's games should be really close. Each has the potential to be an upset, OT, or barn burner type game. Will be a great tournament.

Might I add...this thread is proof of how much Weber fans love their basketball.

I'm probably stating the obvious but I think the third game in three nights is much more of an advantage for the host team than the semi's and the second game in two nights for the opponent. I'm more worried about Friday, than Saturday. Even though Weber wasn't hosting, they struggled against a UND team last year that they probably shouldn't have in the semis. I hope home court corrects that. Did they get caught looking ahead to the championship game last year or was it something else? Do they make the same mistake this year?

SW, that was last year, UND played differently this year, and Weber won both on the road and at home.

Nothing is for granted, there are 7-8 teams that were #1 seed in their conferences that lost in their tourneys and are now heading for the NIT.

In the BSC, I am more concerned for one of the 5, 6 or 7 seeds getting hot, winning Thursday and then meeting Weber on Friday.

I don't know Sac, & PSU 3 games in 3 nights with elevation change from sea level seems like a really tall order. NoCo seems to have totally lost their way.

I guess the first round byes next year will be eliminated or applied to 1st & 2nd place with 8 teams being accepted into the conference tourney with the addition of Idaho?

Next year, if they invited all 12 teams, you could have a 4 round tournament. Second seed would get a first round bye and first seed would get a first and second round bye. It only adds one more day to the thing. That way all members could participate and contribute to the expenses. :thumb: :thumb:

You could risk that Nick Robinsons team would injure your star player for the rest of the tournament. That is not too bad of an idea. Many conferences invite all their members to the post season tournament. There just aren't too many conferences that have 2 win teams that like to play thug ball.

Buy 'hater' a Mtn Dew at least! You're not the only one, I agree with you on Sac St. Jon (bigskybasketball) is providing interesting analysis on each game with some good insight...his picks so far (and not by a wide margin by the way) are UNC & UND...& by prediction for tomorrow, he'll pick UM? ;-)

Ding, Ding, Ding.... We have a winner Jon predicted The Griz with the win.

UND, fresh off of a loss to SUU. :yikes:

Sac, fresh off of a huge win over MSU.

I wonder who is the hottest team?

Likewise, UM and UNC.

It is easier to pick the losers, from my perspective. :ohno:

The only unknown is who the BSC will be able to get for officials. There are many tournaments going on right now and good officials are at a premium. We may end up with some of the worst officiating of the year. Maybe the BSC will get smart and take the pea out of their whistles or duct tape their mouths shut, but I don't think it will happen. :wall:

:thumb: Yes! Maybe the officials can just do hand signals...just before they get steamrolled on the court as the game goes on... :flag:
