Tournament match-ups set

Hey Webergrad02
What is up with your avatar? That dude with the speedo and the banana looks... disturbing.

UND, fresh off of a loss to SUU. :yikes:

Sac, fresh off of a huge win over MSU. :nod:

I wonder who is the hottest team?

Likewise, UM and UNC.

It is easier to pick the losers, from my perspective. :ohno:

The only unknown is who the BSC will be able to get for officials. There are many tournaments going on right now and good officials are at a premium. We may end up with some of the worst officiating of the year. Maybe the BSC will get smart and take the pea out of their whistles or duct tape their mouths shut, but I don't think it will happen. :wall:

I have been watching some of the other tournament games and the refs at least in the games I have been watching have been letting the teams play, hardly calling any fouls. I wonder if it will be the same in our tournament :roll:

:bad: not disturbing, it's cute (his daughter's drawing?). But your peacock mascot beats all, should bring it back for the tourney to humor the fans. :lol:

WILDCAT;

You have hit on one of my pet peeves. BSC refs typically call so many ticky tack fouls, that don't normally get called in other conferences, that BSC teams are at a huge disadvantage when it comes to NCAA tournament time. Our teams simply have not learned how to play the same brand of Ball that the rest of the country is playing. Another reason that the NCAA needs to take over the administration of officiating. :wall:

For those unaware...UND victory over Sac St...close game, could have gone either way...but all you Sac St believers, too bad. :twocents:

Another close one ( although not in first half) UNC plays WSU tomorrow night with a win over NAU. Jon Reed 2 for 2...will it hold for the Griz ? coming up...

Storm the court! Jon missed one, Portland St beats UM...no revenge game for Wildcats vs. Grizzlies possibility. Darn it.

I was on the fence for this one; I was thinking it would be nice to get the opportunity to send the Griz packing but got caught up in the emotion of the crowd wanting PU to just get it done now. This is still good that there's no chance they bounce Weber again. UM now has extra time to focus on FB and any remaining legal issues with players.

As for the picks-- I was wrong on every game :lol: but I guess I was right in liking each match up; all games we close and entertaining.

I really thought that Sac and NAU would play better. They were both close games, but NAU didn't show up until the last 4 minutes of the game and Sac fell apart at the end of their game. PSU held it together and exposed the dirty tactics that UM employs. Jamar played like the thug he is, and some of the other Griz players showed their inner Jamar as well.

And, what the heck is up with UM? They had nobody there at the game. They usually travel better than that. If I were a UM Grizzly, I would be totally embarrassed. Tinks was his usual self, whining at the refs all game long, instead of coaching his team. There were a couple of scouts there, watching Jamar. They didn't have a lot of good to say about him. It was kind of comical listening to them talk about his play. By the end of the game, they were making some positive statements about one of the PSU players. :thumb: :thumb:

Do you think that was the largest and loudest group of fans Portland St. had all year? Weber needs to take care of business beginning at 7:00 PM tomorrow! UNC did not look bad at all and certainly not like a team who's been struggling. They obviously match up well with NAU, though.

By the way, the refs in the two evening games were horrible. They didn't change the outcome of either game, but they were just bad. I didn't a single one of our better refs. It was the worst of the worst. Not good for the BSC!!!! :shocking:

Yes I think it was probably the best PSU has seen in the way of a crowd. They probably want to move their whole school to Ogden

I thought the officiating got increasingly worse with each game but I was only bothered with it in the PSU/UM game. With the exception of that one, I thought they were allowed to play a little more than throughout the season.

As much as I would have liked it to be us that eliminated Montana, all I'm going to say is goodbye and good riddance to the Grizz

I also loved all the heckling the Weber State fans were doing to Montana I love it

You have a very strange obsession with Tinkle and Jamar... I swear every thread that has something to do with the Griz you are whining about Tinkle doing something or badmouthing Jamar. Of course last year your obsession was with Tinkle and Cherry. It's a bit creepy and odd man... I don't think on any of the other boards I've seen someone so intent on badmouthing certain players.

That said, Go Weber! Hope you guys win the tournament and do so in impressive fashion (maybe raising your NCAA seed a bit?). With the talent on your team you have the best shot of any Big Sky team of doing something in the NCAA tournament or at least making it respectable.

interesting tourney thus far. I can not believe the griz lost. this will be the first yr in 5 we wont play griz in the conf tourney.

Potomac;

You are right. I have picked on those two quite a bit. I really do admire most things about Wayne. I do think is one of the best coaches in the Sky. He is a good recruiter and a great, in game, technician. There are just a few things that get under my skin, but I mostly I admire him and what he does for your team and the league. Jamar is a likely target because he is such a tough and talented player. I am soooooo glad that he is a senior.

I am just trying to light a fire under some Griz fans.

The scouts were talking about how one dimensional UMs attack was and that Jamar was very predictable when he got the ball. One of the scouts then said that it was the only option that had been working for UM.
He is obviously your best guy and one of the best in our league. I hope he has a great career, where ever he goes. Does he have a few dirty little tricks in his bag? Of course he does. Almost all good players do. To his credit, he only complained a little bit when the refs called him on it. The crowd got on him a little bit and he held his composure.

All I've gotta say, is that I hope Jamar or at least one of the basketball players is trying to hookup with that tall dancer. YIKES!! She could walk through my dreams any night. :kisswink:

I think Tinkle is a great guy and an excellent coach. He is a players coach, and he recognizes the need to have excellent assistants, probably why his overall salary is lower, as has been assumed previously on this board, so that he can pay more for his assistants. Kerry Rupp is an excellent coach and should be a HC at a DI program and he is one of the Grizz assistants. As for Jamaar...hell of a great player. Will be interesting seeing how the Grizz deal with his departure, but I feel that you guys will be fine next year. Gregory has really come along, he has really impressed this season, and you have that DI transfer sitting in the wings who should help your frontcourt. Also, I think Andy Martin will get better. Hutch has always been game but never quite up to it. Weisner, DeSheilds, and Kemp are also back, which is great news for Grizz fans. Sometimes when the star leaves, a team gets better because to be successful they have to depend more on balance than on one guy.
