Uh oh....

Just saw this. Self imposed penalties. Hopefully that will make the NCAA happy. I'd like to know what the violations are.

"When I got the CU job, I told UNC people that if they didn’t hire B.J. as their next coach, I was taking him with me to Boulder"

Hill recalled. “I think [UNC] respected the fact that I stood up and was HONEST with them.”

“This is it (my dream job), there’s no doubt,” Boyle said after being named head coach [of CU]. “This is a destination job."

...a financial penalty of $5,000 and two percent of the [UNC's] overall budget [will be self-imposed].

Recruiting will also be affected under the self-imposed penalties as men’s basketball scholarships are reduced by three during the 2017-18 and 2018-19 academic years.

Thank you Tad! Thank you BJ! Go Bears!

I would hate to see what the NCAA would impose for sanctions. The self imposed penalties look pretty stiff to me. Sounds pretty damaging to me !

We've had some wretched luck, especially last season when we lost Cam to concussions, etc etc etc.

But we have a new coach and a new system.

So cross your fingers and genuflect to whatever god or goddess can help. (But no need to sacrifice a goat and drink its blood like a certain Floridian candidate for U.S. Senate, allegedly.)

We need diamonds in the rough recruiting-wise, and a coach who can propel players to their maximum potential. And we may have that, we'll see.

As my third stepfather always told me: "Don't fight with people who have nothing to lose."

And as Malcolm Gladwell said: "Effort is the route available to the underdog. We may not be able to outspend you, but we can outwork you."

All is not lost fellow Bears. We shall overcome and dominate! :fuel:

I think it will take several years to recover from this. If Linder can some how come away with a near-.500 record this season he will be a miracle worker. I'll be there to support the players who did not cheat and did all they could to uphold some integrity.

Well, it looks like we now know the allegations. It was interresting to read the Notice of Allegations in the article from the NCAA.

Wow, what a mess. I wonder how much Norton knew about everything.

Yea, that was some harsh reading. Lets hope the NCAA does not add on any more penalties. I hope Linder and the team survive this fiasco

But, if you are going to cheat, cheat for some damn good players...not just above average players...

We obviously don't know the exact players as they were Blackened out in the report. With that said, it doesn't take to much thought to figure it out. I feel bad that these kids learned nothing from a college education except cheating is how to get ahead in life. That's not the life lessons sports are suppose to teach. Shame on you BJ Hill and every other adult involved.

Amen, but I don't think they got very far ahead by these actions...actually the opposite...
