Man, that was a GREAT ballgame! I'm telling you, if the other teams in the BSC improved and we could see that kind of game every weekend, this conference would get a LOT more attention. That was good and fun-to-watch basketball.

But for those of you think UM got the benefit of the calls, then... :?

Weber has a great team. Gonna be a serious battle in Ogden.

Are you kidding me? Weber is going to run the Griz out of the building in Ogden. I just can't believe the refs fall for all of that crying. Several obvious bad calls and several times Weber was mugged and didn’t get a call. I can't believe its that hard to ref a game. If you see a for sure foul you call it. Ignore the crybaby fans and make the right call or no call. Man I am so annoyed with a few of the body fouls called around the basket. I just hope the refs watch the replay and know that they made a few bad calls which changes everything.

Weebs might win in Ogden. That's the way it should work.

But the Griz are the only team in this league who gets homered at home. For anyone who think the officials impacted this game for either team, you're smoking shit that's illegal in 48 states.

Will Cherry got star treatment tonight. I don't have to big of a problem with that, Lillard use to get it when he was playing last year. The refs blow the whistle because they expect contact even if it doesn't happen.

I do believe that it had an impact on the game because a couple of the fouls that Tresnak picked up looked like phantom calls, and as a result he had to sit on the bench for long periods. The Grizz had no answer for his offensive play.

Regardless, both teams deserved to win this game and had their chances. Congrats to the Grizz and we will see you on Valentines Day.

I will agree the officiating was horrible.

Both ways.

Seriously, how many ridiculous 4-step traveling violations did weber get away with? And the inbounds with 3 seconds left? How the EFF do the officials allow weebs to huddle to draw up a play there??!?!?! That was not only a 5 second violation, it was like a THIRTY FIVE second violation. That was simply unbelievable.

As I said above: If you think officiating impacted who won this game, you're smoking shit that I want a LOT of! Because it was bad, but it was bad BOTH ways.

Go Griz.

officiating sucked for both teams. weber traveled atleast 4-5 times and got buckets but the griz got some calls that were lucky. But you gotta credit UM for shooting 95% from the line. Fun game to watch. Until the hand shakes at the end where #15 and someone else got in our players faces. coaches had to come back out and coaches drug 2 weebs players off the court. Lucky 3 weebs players flipped off the general admission section when getting pulled out. I know they were getting boo'd but come on. oh yea and i loved #15's racial comments to white people as he got pulled off the court. something about crackers??lol im sure griz players said plenty back. However it was pretty classless to see that unfold from a weebs team who player their hearts out in a close game.

Great game both teams wanted it badly. But sorry Montana your players aren't Angels themselves. Looked like it was Deshields that started the trash talking to webers players in the line Only so much talking you can do. But great game see y'all in ogden. :)

Everett and Keena, thanks for your comments and even-handedness. It was a hard fought game for both teams, and from reading the Griz board sounds like both teams had a couple guys involved in the post game stuff.

Many Big Sky Conference fans are unhappy with the lack of respect our teams get in the rest of the college hoops world - MT and Weber seem to always be in contention to beat each other for top seed. But I have to ask your feedback regarding one thing:

Do the bench players think the synchronized leg-crossing and antics make Montana appear on the same caliber as top 25 teams? I get the interlocking arms on the bench when a team is looking to upset an opponent at the end of a game. Seen it many times. But... the almost dance moves from D1 scholarship college basketball players while on the bench looks so middle school and juvenile. Could you see Duke or North Carolina players doing that? The TV cameras love it, it is a big put-down.

I had friends watching online with us last night, one who played on scholarship in one of the service academies and he was going nuts at how it disrespects their teammates on the floor and the game in general.

These guys are all good players, it's just sad to see them diminish themselves.

I look forward to see the rematch in a couple weeks.

It's amazing how in accurate mtgrizfankb statements are. 1st off #15 Berry was talking to Will Cherry who not only happens to be a friend & former AAU teammate they're actually cousins through marriage. It was actually Shields from Montana came over trash talking. To spin this as Weber players instigating or to even suggest there were racial slurs is foolish and reckless... Tempers were lost, no doubt but please don't make statements that defame character when you don't know what the hell you are talking about.

There were about 100 ppl who heard the cracker comment. And berry got dragged out of the area. He was one of 3 that flipped off the crowd. Pictures of it were sent to you school ad and pres. yes deshields got involved, after berry shoved Mathis...i was there, I know. Cherry and deshields got surrounded and escorted off the court. To say your players didn't do anything is asinine and prude. 3 players flipped off the crowd and berry made a racial slur....there are allot of ppl who heard it. I was right there you can't dispute it.......it happened. I know berry got pissed earlier in the game and a official got in his face. Then Otis and Coleman were warned in the game too. Our team didn't disrespect their university by flipping off a crowd and use racial slurs, that was all Weber.

I'm pretty sure I didn't say Weber was innocent. What I did say is that Weber did not start the post game fiasco as Montana fans have implied. And it just seemed convenient that you said you couldn't hear exactly what berry said exactly but you're positive you heard "cracker". My comment was if you are uncertain of what's said lets hold off on posting such a powerful statement that totally contradicts who he is as person. His teammates and coaches & friends know he's far from the person you are attempting to paint.

It was a hard fought game like we've come to expect between the two top teams in the conference. The officiating was suspect with both sides having cause for concern (can't ignore Montana shot 12 more free throws). Tempers were lost on BOTH sides, poor judgment was executed. No Excuses!!!

My point is let's dispute basketball and leave out the racial crap and attempts to target kids and assassinate their character.

Okay. I heard with with 100% positivity (standing about 10 feet away) that he did use the word "Cracker" and it was directed towards a student. This was said right before he looked me directly in the eyes and told me "I will Fu@k you up too." Davion lost it and he was on the verge of a complete breakdown. He had a lot of tears welling in his eyes. Face it, it happened. Hopefully he had a "coming to Jesus" moment in the locker room. As of right now he is not representing UW well at all.

What is said between the players is within a completely different scope than engaging the fans by threatening and taking sh#t.

On another note. I absolutely love Scott Bamforth's game. That dude just just comes out and plays. Nothing flashy about him at all. He is a HUGE asset to your team and represents Weber B-ball very very well. Right after I was told I was about to be "Fu@ked-up", SB walked passed me and I let him know he one hell of a player. Kudos to him.

Thanks 22. That was a terrific basketball game to watch. I love the UM/Weber rivarly that's developed. I just wish other teams in our conference could step up and play that level of basketball. That's what it will take to get the conference recognized nationally.

I can't comment on the dust-up as I didn't see any of it. But I'm willing to bet that there were players on both sides involved, or at least instigators. I really don't think too much about it. After a game like that, emotions will be flying high on both sides, and something like a little smack-talking and pushing/shoving just isn't that big a deal to me.

Regarding the antics on the Griz bench, I actually kind of like it. Yeah, it may be perceived by some as rather juvenile, but basketball IS a game! I love seeing the emotion and fun again. It bothers me to look at a bench and see a bunch of guys looking like they're at a corporate board meeting, or conducting open heart surgery. This ain't life and death. This is a game being played by college kids. And anyone who suggests it's in anyway disrepectful to the game or to the players is simply mistaken.

The bench players started doing it last year as a way to be good teammates and cheer on the guys on the floor. As a Griz fan, I LOVE that. Now, it's becoming tradition, which BSC basketball needs a lot more of. I mean, some may consider it a little silly that Weber fans stand until the first basket is made. I find that kind of cool. Likewise, I find what the UM players do awfully darn fun. And really, isn't that the entire point??

if you want the exact quote that he said. "f*Ck you, Your a F**king Cracker or (cracka)" i was right there. He flat lost control. 3 players flipped off the fans. Seriously how would you not be appauled at the action of these players. And btw the first shove, push, move was by weebs players. Im sure Keron said something to get it started he is known for being a vocal guy. You cant tell me you would not go crazy if when cheery, deshields and jamar left the court in ogden if they flipped you off and called you a cracker. Like i said there is a video of it and i know the emails being sent to your ad and pres. Lets hope they atleast talk to your fine oakland athelets.

really??? :wall: even thought there are multiple witnesses of an event happing, your willing to say dont target HIM!!! or assassinate HIS character. :willybs: ... HE USED A RACIAL SLUR AT A NCAA EVENT TO A FAN!!! then him and 2 teammates gave the crowd the bird..... idk what weed you smoke but i want some. Sometimes you have to suck it up and say, "yea, wow he was out of control and something should be done" I know im a montana fan. I suck it up and say yea a few griz football players have been out of line and they are deserving of punishment.

At the end of the day...i hope these kids are sorry for their stupid actions and hot heads. They played a hell of a game and fought till the end. Sometimes you just have to be a good sport and walk off the court with your head held high. They know they get to play us again....maybe 2 more times. Stop standing up for kids who used racial slurs and attacked a fan base for no reason!!
