vs. Cal Poly

Also, let's not do any weird stuff like putting Padron in. I'm confident in Kyle, but I don't think you put him in unless Vernon isn't getting it done. And right now Vernon is getting it done.

By all means, I wouldn't put Kyle in either. He had a punt blocked for a touchdown last week. He fumbled on the 5 last week. He hasn't been able to stop the run all year. And his play calling has been terrible.

I am liking this MSU game so far. CSUS has a real chance to win this one. Their defense is playing really well.

GREAT play by our EWU Eagles. I have to be perfectly honest, because I was not confident in our team. I am so glad that I was wrong about this game. Definitely not going to lose confidence again.

Excellent defense! All season, Eastern has been depicted as a weak run defense team. Especially against the option. But this week, we went against arguably a top three option offense team and really stuck it to them every time. AWESOME

Excellent offense! Adams was really clickin and looked very confident out there. The coach play calling was great and it was good to see the tight ends getting some shots. Cal Poly will need some dentist appointments after our gettings slammed hard by our runningbacks.

Special teams! Good, but could be better. Cal Poly was able to return on us every time Miller wasn't able to kick it over the endzone. But I have a nice memory of a punt downed at the 1 yard line

This was a top ranked team performance. If we keep this level of play up, we will go DEEP into the playoffs.

I think the biggest shocker in this game was that we out-gained them on the GROUND. 254 yards rushing, that's a testament to our offensive balance and the D really stepping up in this game.

I thought their play calling in the second half was curious. I expected to see more passing in the third in an attempt to catch up. Then in the 4th they kept running the same plays with the exception of one long pass that was a TD. It was like their coaching staff just gave up after about the 10 min mark.

Sac State just kept shitting themselves with turnovers. They were dominant all over the field except their OL got bitchslapped. Bummer. If either Montana State or Sac State had brought that trash-game against Eastern, the game wouldn't have even been close.

It sucks that most teams seem to have the game of their lives when they line up against EWU. UND and Cal Poly not withstanding...

FWIW, it seems like the read option is what continually makes us look bad. I can't really remember an old-school triple, dive, or veer-type option having much success in many years.

CP gashed us with it last year even though we ended up winning the game. I also remember about 10 years back playing a Southland team that really beat us up with it. I keep wanting to say McNeese, but it wasn't them.

I'd personally like to see a couple more Td's, which would presumably help us in the polls. Assuming we can beat Davis and PSU, a seed wouldn't be out of the question with a 9-2 record and only one FCS loss.
With Wofford and GSU losing today, a seed is almost a surety if we win out.

Nicholls State in 2004.

Yep, this was a BIG win. Complete performance, and I was thoroughly impressed by how our D played. Getting Pulu, Cook, Johnson, and McCarthy back was HUGE.

GO EAGS!!!

I have a feeling that we will make a statement in this game. I'm thinking this may look a lot like the Villanova game in the playoffs in 2010. Don't have a lot of evidence to back it up, but i have a gut feeling we are going to come out physical and with a ton of fire. GO EEEAAAAAAAGLLEEES!

*ahem* called it... :ugeek:

Good win, team played really well today. Nice to have some starters back on D, we really shut down Cal Poly's O. Our offense was clicking all game, glad to see one QB play the entire game.

Can't have a let down next week...I like the fact that we are playing at home. Should dominate UC Davis then we have some revenge to take out on PSU.

Thought our O-Line had an outstanding day. Adams may have been able to stay in the pocket more if he had to but with his running ability no need to. Blocking across the board was really nice to see as was our defensive effort.
