I've tried to find any info that I could on James. I even sent an email to a journalist in Omaha. She said a number of things about him, but made sure to tell me everything she was telling me was second hand info from his coach. He does have an offer, among other DI interests. He hasn't signed with anyone yet. She speculated that he might go the Juco route, but said he could be a spring signee. I know Rahe and Co have talked a bit about the possibility of signing another player this spring, but I was under the impression, especially with all of our scholies being used next season that the Wizard was done. Anyway, he is a big kid and is a decent player. If he is signed, I'm virtually positive that he will be automatically designated as a Red Shirt his first season here. Anyway, nice find fatcat.

Personally, I thought Weber was done, but....maybe not. Anyway four potential recruits, along with James. Catcat, may not like any of them.

Malachi Roberts 6-4 183 SG/SF... Eastmont High Washington. He has been tabbed as a sleeper. Montana is also recruiting him. According to Rivals Weber has medium interest in him and no offer.

Dominique Brooks 6-2 185 PG... God's Academy Texas. He has nine offers (Houston, Baylor, Hawaii, Idaho State, and Weber). He is a native of Seattle and played at Cleveland High his first two years (14.9 pts). High interests and an offer

Rodney Givens 6-2 190 PG... bishop Miege Prepatory Kansas. He hasn't been offered.

Michael Perez 6-3 180 PG/SG... Pueblo Magnet High School Arizona. He hasn't been offered, but medium interest. Here are his stats though, pretty impressive: 28.8 pts, 39 for 115 3pt range 34% (50% all FG), 92 for 103 FT 89%, 6.2 Rebounds, 2.6 Assists, 3 steals, and 1 block a game. 45 TO's in 14 games... He has had games highs of 11 rebounds twice (9 three other times), 10 steals (6 twice), 6 assists. Pts: 45 with five over 30. He hasn't had less than 21 points yet this season. I'm guessing the reason why he hasn't been signed is that he plays in a smaller league than St. Mary's or Horizon. I think he is a 3A player in Tuscon.

I really hope that Rahe can get a big man to WSU. I would love to see a forward or center that is talented like Lillard. With a player like that WSU can play anyone around.

There are three players that have signed Letters of Intent in November 2009: Jordan Richardson a 6'0" guard from CA that is averaging 22.2 pts per game this year; Scott Bamforth a 6'2" JC transfer from Nebraska that is injured this season; and Kyle Tresnak a 6'10" Center from Arizona that is averaging 15.7 ppg and 4.6 blocks per game. Not sure how many scholarships are open for this fall. Hajek looks like a good player, it would be good to have added bigs inside. Byron Fulton is a strong 6'7" and red-shirted this year, he can play the 4-5 very well too. This could be some help inside for the 'Cats.

I'm pretty confidant that Tresnak and Fulton will be able to fill the void created by Panos's departure next season. Hajek, if he signs, would have to red-shirt or get some other type of financial assistance if he wanted to play next year, but from what I've seen of him he might need a year. However, he looks like a really tough kid, so who knows, he might be ready to go next season. No matter, Weber will be fine with bigs.
Next Season:
Morris
Mahoney
Bullinger
Washington
Fulton
Tresnak...I really like this kid. He reminds me a lot of Art, except he can block.
Davis (he is probably going to be a 3, I've heard he can play the 2 or 4 though)
Hajek if he signs, which I'm pretty sure will happen. Why wouldn't he? Rahe, the Dee, Weber State's Academics, the Mountains, Utah is fairly similar to Nebraska, Weber Crazies (aka PPAK) and did I mention the Wizard?

Just in Case you all forgot:
Lillard
Session
Hughey
Noble
Coro
Crandell
Richardson
Bamforth
and potentially one more, from what I've heard...how I'm not sure.

Maybe ya'll can help me understand how Weber can sign 3 players for next year when they will only be losing 2 seniors. I know NCAA rules only allow for teams to give 13 total scholarships. So, if Weber signs 3 players, will someone lose their scholarship next year, or am I missing something (i.e. does Weber only have 12 players on scholarship this year, and if so, who is not on scholarship, besides walk-ons)?

Next Seasons Scholies:
Damian Lillard
Franklin Session
Lindsey Hughey
Matt Washington
Kyle Bullinger
Josh Noble
Darin Mahoney
Trevor Morris
Scott Bamforth
Blake Davis
Jordan Richardson
Byron Fulton
Kyle Tresnak
Pablo Coro
One of these players will have to red-shirt next fall, or someone isn't going to be coming back.

Redshirts:
Two Signees this spring
Hajek and another...

Non-Scholarship players:
BJ Porter, I'm sure he is getting some type of Aid
Dee Crandell, same situation
Blake Christensen
Cody Larson

Don't red-shirt's on scholarship count towards the 13 total?

Is Washington on scholarship? I read in the Standard that he walked on, and I asked this before and no one responded. http://www.standard.net/topics/sports/2009/12/08/washington-providing-spark-cats

Yeah, Washington does has a scholarship.

2011:

Jonathan Holmes

Collin Woods

Getting all three would be huge. I've heard that Woods is perhaps the best player in AZ, that Holmes is a true PF who can play all over the court and is a rebounding monster, and that Taylor is one of the top guards in the western US. Woods and Taylor would be a virtually unstoppable duo. Add a good solid big man like Holmes into the mix and you have four years of dominance!

I don't know if this means anything, but Jordan Richardson and TJ Taylor play on the same AAU team in Oakland. They might be friends.
