Weber State Recruiting

The story on Baker was that he and his father sat down with coach, at the end of his visit, started making demands, and basically, eliminating any thought Randy may have had about signing him. I think we ended up with a better player anyway. Randy won't bring trouble on to our team,
reguardless of their skill. Peperdine, obviously, doesn't feel that way.

We now have a solid, young, corp of guards and bigs. The next thing will be the extremely athletic small forward. The really nice thing is that we have a full year to line it up. I have total faith that our coaches will get the job done. That kind of player may well be the most difficult to get, with the right attitude. I expect that we will be on a nation wide man hunt. We may see a JC and a freshman signed at that position, next year.
Don't be supprised if we go after another point guard as well.

Baker at times during scrimmages was only going 50%. Loafing alot.
Regarding highlighted: Especially after the Frank Session experiment. The guy was a Huge problem in the lockerroom last season.

Early signing starts Wednesday, 10-Nov.

Look for us to sign our two early commitments. These are great kids from great families. Furthermore, they are outstanding basketball players who will add a lot of tallent and size to the positions they will play. They will be joining a team that is already strong and they will make us even better.

Hats off, to our coaching staff. Every year we get stronger and better.

Collette likely has bright basketball future

"Collette has had an offer from Weber State University, but said he hasn’t made any decisions because he is hoping to have a big senior season at Murray, which likely would bring more offers."

Devon Turk 6-4 SG is still available for 2012. I know that Weber had offered a scholie to him.

This is a perfect time to explore all of our options. Personally, I wouldn't be surprised if a high profile transfer showed up on our doorstep. I don't think we will rush out to sign just anyone. There is no need for that. If it's not a sure bet, I say, we don't gamble at all. That opening can go unfilled until next fall if need be. There is just no need to rush into anything at this juncture. Just like the situation with Fields, someone is going to get a very good player and hopefully he will go in with a new attitude, after having a little dose of reality at WSU. There are probably 20+ players out there right now, who are in the same boat. Getting the right one is the key. Also, look at how Wheelright fell into our lap. That happens all the time, as well.

NO NEED TO RUSH!! :coffee:
