Weber State Recruiting

I think Taylor would be the type of player to take Weber to the next level. ESPN has him rated a 92 (Lillard was rated an 85 coming out of high school), which puts him in the "90-100: Immediate Impact Prospect" grade range. ESPN's description of a prospect in this range is: "Player demonstrates rare abilities and has the potential to start as a freshman for a national, top-25 program." WOW! And he must be a great prospect if he had DI offers as a high school sophomore. I hope Lillard and Richardson's Bay Area connection will help sway this kid to give Weber a serious look.

This is an ideal situation. Weber is going to lack inside, with a guard like Lillard and Talyor working the block, that's a great inside outside game. I think that Taylor's decision will be impacted on how weber does In the NCAA tournament. If weber can make a one or two game run into the sweet 16 count this kid on coming. Plus I'm sure he is aware of Lillard and knows about WSU. I bet this kid looked up to Lillard back home, he might want to follow in Lillards foot steps. If he knows what's good for him he will play fir Rahe.

Don't forget about Collin Woods. The Wizard has routinely acknowledged Woods as being the best player in AZ and one of the top guards in the western U.S. ESPN doesn't get around to AZ talent unless you are at one of the blockbuster schools (preps or big private school), especially out to Horizon very often, so they really don't know how good Woods is (when they do they are extra hard on the player), but I can guarantee that he is legit. If Weber were to get Taylor, and notice that Weber is one of the lower division schools to be recruiting him, which tells me that Weber has had their eye on him for a while and has been in contact with him for a while, along with Woods, mark my words...four straight Championships, along with those being won by Lillard and Co.

One thing that gives Weber a huge edge is that Woods, Taylor, and Holmes are all great students, and Rahe is a coach that guarantees academic success.

However, for Weber to get Taylor and Woods, WEBER MUST KEEP RAHE!! Giving him bonuses isn't enough. Weber needs to sign him to a long, lucrative, contract. Also, he needs to see his teams rewarded by attendance. I thoroughly believe that he is a lot like Stew. One reason why Stew hasn't left USU, in my opinion, is that he has so many loyal supporters and has built a renown program in Logan, which makes it really tough for him to leave. If, and I mean if, Weber could fill the Dee and show our appreciation for the Wizard rebuilding the program, Weber will be a winners for years to come. We need to keep Rahe!! The Wizard is the key to these recruits.

Weber State also offered 6'2" shooting guard from Arizona, Jordan Baker who was Ave,20 ppg and 4 asst, he went down with an injury (broken wrist) during Christmas break. This 2011 player has made shooting skill.

Interesting that Weber offered Baker after he broke his wrist. I know that Hawaii was looking at him, but I'm not sure who else.

There is a highly rated 2011 recruit who is related to a certain player from Oakland, and is friends with an Oakland player who is coming to Weber this fall.

I guess that could mean something...

That is awesome, hopefully they can pursued him to become a Wildcat. From what I hear this kid can really play.

I was a little surprised that a juco pt guard popped up from Howard Texas Juco 6'1" Lamont Austin ave 11.5 ppg 4.1 ast 2.1 asst. from topeka kansas. for the 7th ranked juco team in the land, howard tx. Coach Rahe loves players that play hard.

was I the only one that saw the 6'10" + big kid with his parents at the Sac game last night. Anyone have any idea who that was ? Maybe the kid from Nebraska? Please find out... go wildcats..

i heard it was him. too bad it was Sac that he came to see. too bad it wasn't nau/unc next week! better games/better crowds for those. hopefully he chooses wsu; he'll get to the big dance with us!

I would love to have James Tresnak 6'10" 240 lb along with 6'10 235 forward from Arizona in one recruiting class. A great backup point guard richardson and all we really need is another sessions thats 6'6'' instead of 6'2.. Rahe is on a recruiting roll with good athletic players, and solid inside players.

Coro was recruited to be a PG. He was suppose to back up Lillard this year. Coro is a great outside shooter, who has the ability to create off the dribble and knows how to get to the hoop. The Wizard was worried about this year teams ability to shoot from the outside without him, once he got injured. Thankfully that really hasn't been an issue. Next season there will be five PG's, if we count Hughey, who has soon his ability to run the team. Even though he will primarily be used as a SG next year, but who knows.

Also, don't forget about Porter. He can play either the 2 or 3.

I'm not sure how it will work out, but it'll be really nice knowing that Weber will have two 6-9/6-10 players coming in next year. It will allow Fulton to become a true PF, which will suit him perfectly. Fulton is extremely dangerous. He has great hands and can hit the outside shot. He can hit shots all over the court and has a number of moves that can get him to the bucket.

If the Wizard is able to sign his top three for next fall...Weber will be pretty much the deepest, most talented, and most disciplined team in the sky for years to come.

i never really heard why bj poter transfered from portland? anyone have the story? ALSO has anyone heard how James Hajek's visit went and did he commit? I heard that they thought Ogden was a bit far away, but loved the arena, and coach Rahe.. his stats in Nebraska are outstanding, he dominates players already going Div 1...

Porter transfered to be closer to family.

Hajek, from what was inferred by Rahe today, is pretty much a done deal. That means Weber is getting taller as well as quicker.

it is worth noting that rahe never mentions recruits by name which would be an ncaa violation. he only said a recruit from the state of nebraska. however, us fans on this board are aware who the players happen to be! lol
