Weber vs St Mary's

bull did have the disc issue with his back this week and still played. they said it happened last yr too but he didnt miss a game. in the first half of the JSU game, bull rolled his ankle but didn't come out.

st mary's is a good team. i wish we could have won but i dont feel bad or down after that game. lets just hope games/tourneys like that help us improve. we need to be able to get through 2 games in 2 days in march which is more important than winning this game to move up in the mid major poll when overall it means nothing.
 
So, I use to think the Cubbie announcer was the biggest doosh in DI basketball. Good thing for him I had to watch that crappy online feed and listen to Saint Mary's idiot announcer. What an absolute HOMER. Hell, he made Brad sound magnanimous for Hell sakes. Pathetic!! I hate seeing the Cats lose, but having to listen to some guy who has his head so far up his own A$$ made it sooo much worse.
 
STOP HATIN ON BULL folks...He had a bad game. Hell, he is injured. I'd rather have Bull on the floor than anyone else. That is one guy who will never quit. He is all heart.
 
Darin Mahoney played 8 minutes with 4 boards ( 3 defensive, 1 offensive) and 1 block. THere is our defensive toughness sitting on the bench..

Defense is a huge concern but how about only 4 points from out bench? (2-11) To there 30!!

I got injured in football my senior year. I was tough enough to play through it, but I told the coach not to put me in because I KNEW that I wouldn't be able to get the job done and it would've hurt the team. If Bull knows he can't be effective he needs to quit being a SELFISH player because there are people on the bench not getting the minutes that are more capable at getting the job done. Nobody is questioning KBull's toughness but he either is playing terribly or the injury is too serious for him to get the job done. If it's the latter than he needs to rest, get treatment and come back strong.

I think i heard Carl mention that Mahoney had tweaked his back again this week on the pre-game show. I am guessing that is why he was not in the second half of the game.

Makes sense.. him and bull need to take it easy cuz we will need them saturday. Maybe shoot a few jump shots together to get their stroke down

Wow, being stuck at work, that really sounds relaxing too.

If Bull isn't able to go, then what? Does Rahe start three guards or does he try to put Fulton or Mook in as the SF? I would think that he would go with a 3 guard lineup. Unfortunately, Fulton isn't fast enough to guard other SFs, and Mook can't spread the defense. He can't shoot very well.
 
There was a point last night where the line-up was Lillard, Bamforth, Richardson, Otis and Tresnak. SM had some decent height differences when we went small, and shot over our defenders.

That was when they made their drive on us. Weber can't afford Bull being injured.
 
All you fair weather fans who think this team is now doomed crack me up. A road loss to a very good team and some of you idiots can't wait to throw dirt on this team. Give it a rest, this team will be VERY good when its all said and done.

You guys haven't played well since the midget Bamforth went unconscious against USU.

I've been rooting for you guys, but I just don't see you guys having a distinct advantage over USU/BYU as the best team in the state. USU would beat you guys in the Spectrum and BYU looks like they have a legitimate shot at beating you guys in the Marriott Center (only because of the refs though)

No matter how Weber has played since, one thing is sure; Weber is the better team this year than UsU. Go wank off over your bowl opportunity. Not that over 75% of FBS teams are involved or anything. :ohno:
 
expecting to go 30-0 isn't going to happen. and if you thought there was homecooking in moraga you will see a thanksgiving feast in provo and berkeley. :shocking: i saw a lot of positives with this game even though we did not win. i dont know, maybe it was different watching online opposed to being there.

i really like the potential of this team, we lost to a 4 straight 25 win team that is no stranger to the top 25. smc only has 2 road ooc games so they will probably get another 25 wins. we will be a quality win for them and they won't be a bad loss for us.

Thats a great point...Catcat, since you were at the game, you probably have a far different perspective than what I saw online (I couldn't see things very well). I'd like to know your perspective too.

I was at the BYU game, in provo, two years ago. From the newspapers account and the tool media of SLC, it seemed as if BYU destroyed Weber, but since I was at the game, i knew better. Weber was leading with 10min to go until jimmer, emery, and haws went nuts on us. A couple of bad calls and some timely treys really turned things around and thats how the Cats lost. I'm suspecting that game in Moraga was somewhat similar.

If Weber went small and the Gayles had height that would desperately hurt Weber too. Nothing you can do when you only have one athletic 3 and he is out of the game.

hey i want to see us 30-0 as much as anyone but everyone loses. i realize with this team everyone is expecting them to steam roll through the big sky so you are wanting some good ooc wins. the game is over and we lost, time to move on. its better to lose early and learn. a healthy team improving with good chemistry is as much as we can hope for. we can still head into provo with a 5-1 mark and 2-0 vs the wac.

Well first off Corpus Christi isn't terrible, but you're right we played even worse against them than against Weber. The guys were still getting used to life without the team leader/best post player Jardine. Miss that fact?

The difference is that this is supposed to be a complete rebuilding year for USU, whereas this is THEE premier year for WSU basketball. I expected 30 wins our of your bunch after the way some of you guys hyped them up. We'll see.

Oh and yeah, I'll "wank off" to going to a school with an FBS football program and a bowl game coming up. Remember when people here said this would be the year Weber would beat USU in basketball AND football? :rofl:
