Weber vs St Mary's

I am not blaming the loss on the officials. That game could have gone either way. On a level court, it would have been a 1 or 2 point game and would have gone to the wire. St Mary's has an excelent team, and they are well coached. Just like us.

The officials were not hired and scheduled by the NCAA or the WCC. They were selected and paid by SMC. They probably do that event every year, and want to come back. The game was fairly called for the first 15 minutes or so. Weber built a 10+ point lead and then interesting things started happening. Randy tilted his head and said nothing, when there had been about 5 mistery calls in a row. One of the officials came running up to him, telling him to shut up and that if he yelled at them he was going to get a tech. Randy didn't even say one word to them. I was sitting five feet away. The second half was more of the same, until SMC built a comfortable lead, and then the officiating would level out until Weber would make a little run at them. At those crucial points of the game, mistery calls would start happening again. The message was clear. I talked to some SMC fans after the game. They saw the same thing I did. They thought it was hillarious. I guess it would be, if you are on that side of the equation. There is no doubt that these same officials will do this event next year and maybe for years to come. :ohno:

There is a reason they average 25+ wins a season, but don't win their league. :wtf:

Neutral court tournaments are the only way to go!! Oh well, it was a good experience for the Cats. Thank you oldrunner, this was the perspective I was looking for. I was hoping Catcat would share what he saw, but as usual all he could do was be a total doosh.

We cant buy a call, Im going to bed, and I thought refs at the Spectrum were horrid. Congrats St. Mary's, I hope you enjoyed the help.

Jeez, all some you guys do is blame the refs.

You guys haven't played well since the midget Bamforth went unconscious against USU.

I've been rooting for you guys, but I just don't see you guys having a distinct advantage over USU/BYU as the best team in the state. USU would beat you guys in the Spectrum and BYU looks like they have a legitimate shot at beating you guys in the Marriott Center (only because of the refs though)

And this coming from a fan of a team that lost to Corpus Christi? Come on guy...give it a rest. Weber won the game. No matter how Weber has played since, one thing is sure; Weber is the better team this year than UsU. Go wank off over your bowl opportunity. Not that over 75% of FBS teams are involved or anything. :ohno:

Well first off Corpus Christi isn't terrible, but you're right we played even worse against them than against Weber. The guys were still getting used to life without the team leader/best post player Jardine. Miss that fact?

The difference is that this is supposed to be a complete rebuilding year for USU, whereas this is THEE premier year for WSU basketball. I expected 30 wins our of your bunch after the way some of you guys hyped them up. We'll see.

Oh and yeah, I'll "wank off" to going to a school with an FBS football program and a bowl game coming up. Remember when people here said this would be the year Weber would beat USU in basketball AND football?

You wank off to your football team? Son...we don't want to know about your perversions.

Oh, please don't brag about "that" bowl game in Boise. That should be an absolute embarrassement for any Utah State fan.

Rahe said in the pregame that they were trying hard to get into a three game tournament but couldn't find one that wasn't already full or that worked with their schedule. The St Mary's tournament wasn't their first choice. And considering the other teams that were there and how long it took them to find three teams, tournaments like this aren't very popular.

Time to put this game behind us. We'll see what team we have in the next 4 games. If we go 3-1 we have a really special team. 2-2 we'll still probably win the Big Sky. 1-3 and we might be in trouble. We will see. I'll be ecstatic if we win 3!

Next 4: SJSU, BYU, SUU, and Cal.

If Bull isn't able to go, then what? Does Rahe start three guards or does he try to put Fulton or Mook in as the SF? I would think that he would go with a 3 guard lineup. Unfortunately, Fulton isn't fast enough to guard other SFs, and Mook can't spread the defense. He can't shoot very well.

Regarding the three, something most of us probably don't know... Mike Brown is listed at 6'2" but is pushing 6'3", has a 6'5" wingspan and big hands, high jumped 6'6" foot once in high school, long jumped 21'6", and guarded 6'5" to 6'6" guards nearly every game in national AAU tournaments. Now, he is a freshmen, Richardson seems to be getting the backup minutes ahead of him at the 2... so would Rahe roll the dice on a freshman? Indication is no but against SJS state, maybe this is where he will take a look-see. Just curious. That said, Bull has been a beast rebounding and WAS scoring well in Fall workouts so would should know enough about his ability and character to not count him out. :ohno:
