I know I give you guys crap about your fan saying you were the new Gonzaga, but hats for that beating tonight. You guys are the real deal.

These guys play so tough and together. I wasn't impressed with how Barden played against us last year. He is so much better now. Barden will likely be the POY in the Big Sky.

I don't see Northern Colorado losing many more games this year. You are for sure in the drivers seat for the conference. Yes Weber didn't show up, but you guys completely overwhelmed us tonight. I will be rooting against you in Ogden and heckling BJ. But at this juncture, I am planning on going to Greeley in March for the tourney.

On a side note. Who is the player in this picture? I found this gem today and it made me laugh. The player has clearly had his bubble invaded by the coach and is not comfortable. Was this after you clinched your NCAA berth a few years back? http://www.bigskyfans.com/wildcats/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4371" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Thanks for the respect. That looks like Devon in that picture, and yes it's from the Championship a few years back.

I know Weber didn't play their best game tonight but to me they were way overrated. They had some quickness and size down low but that was it. They had no one that could guard Barden and Barden knew it... and he let the crowd know as well.

The Bears clearly made a statement tonight. Very impressive!

If you'd been watching Weber play this year you wouldn't call this a statement win. Hasn't been a good year in Ogden. Congrats, you're the best team in an absolutely terrible conference.

My oh my, how the tune has changed from the fans in Ogden.

I wondered about the crowd at B-H as well. Hopefully the students rally around this team.

And before we get too big for our britches, I hope the team consistently looks back at the Bethune-Cookman game with the understanding that they can't coast through any game this season.

That was a show last night !! And a really good show at that ! Yea, maybe Weber is not that good ( according to their fans they are) but I think we are really good. We have got a lot of talent, depth and poise. Lets not let it get to their head and keep doing what they are doing. This team gets better every week and I don't think they know how good they really are and maybe that's a good thing. Awesome play last night !

Well said Brian.

Still a long ways to go. And Weber and Montana on the road. Hopefully no letdown versus Idaho St.

I believe that's called 'damning with faint praise'. It's a terrible conference if Weber's terrible? Never mind that we beat Top 25 KSU on the road.

How humble you are. But when you beat us with Damian Lillard, who went on to be NBA ROY, it was the toughest conference in the country, right?

:ohno:

This conference has been terrible for some time, it's just been extraordinarily terrible the last three years. And the last two years UM and Weber have been "the best teams in an absolutely terrible conference." All you have to do is look at non conference records and NCAA tournament games. The beating UM got last year was embarrassing.

I do hope for your sakes that more people start to come out and watch your team. This UNC team gives the conference some hope of not being embarrassed in the tournament. The K St win was as impressive of a win as I can remember a conference team having recently.

Completely agree. Pathetic that we got only 1k at the game. Granted it was a week night and the students are not back from winter break, it's no excuse. This team is very good and work extremely hard. Stupid Greeley. :ohno:

You are so right with the "Stupid Greeley " comment. Even without the students, Greeley should be filling those seats. This is really an exciting team to watch. Granted our marketing dept. needs a lot of work but this team should not need that much help getting people in the stands.

2011, when we made our tourney debut, was hardly embarrassing for the BS conf. As a #15 against a #2 we had no chance, but we held our own through the first half, and into the second. Hardly embarrassing to lose on a neutral court to a top 10 team.

We had the leading scorer in the game--Big Sky MVP Devon with 25 (6/10 from 3)! But our bench contributed a mere 4 points. Eventually your starters tire and the game ends for the #15 seed against the #2 team's bench advantage.

San Diego State's main threat in that game--Kawhi Leonard, who went for 21-10--is now starting for the reigning NBA Western Conf Champ Spurs, alongside future HOF'ers Tim Duncan, Tony Parker, and Manu Ginobli + future HOF coach Greg Popovich. In last year's NBA Finals, Leonard was guarding arguably the best player of all time -- Lebron James.

I have sat through hundreds of basketball games working up to my kid playing in college and watching basketball tends to be relatively boring unless you have a Lob City type team or know the players and follow the conference. I would greatly agree that marketing plays a huge part. I remember looking forward to going to certain venues to watch my kid play because they had great food, places to go after the game, great promotional giveaways (like cool T-Shirts, not the lame $1 dime a dozen shirts), or it was just going to be a great battle between evenly matched teams.
So far my experience at volleyball games and the few basketball games I went to is that the atmosphere is lacking many of the aforementioned draws.
I believe this team has the ability to meet many of those draws, maybe not "Places to go after the game" but the rest of them could probably easily be met.

Attendance is on a down from previous seasons. When we had good or decent teams lately we averaged about 17000( I believe, or somewhere around that number). We haven't got close to that number this season. I think the weather, Broncos games and Xmass break all played into low numbers so far.

I suspect that attendance will improve a lot when the students return from break. On the whole, the school is historically poor at marketing to the students and the community. I'd bet that when the student population is on campus that less 25% of them even are aware when there is a home game. Hopefully, Dunn will drive better marketing and engagement with the students and community.

Let's hope that's one of his strengths.

while i was hoping weber wouldnt lose i didnt think we would get smoked.

i for sure call this a signature unc win or statement win. between beating ksu on the road and beating weber it proves unc is for real this yr. you guys have the team to keep it going it looks like. barden...wow, good player. he will be hard to stop. he was predicted to be a big sky 1st teamer....maybe mvp? who knows.

if you can beat weber or montana its a big deal. both have lost so few conf games the last few yrs. rahe is 56-4 at home and 41-25 on the road in big sky games. i think that was our first loss to unc since 2011.
