I like this hire. I'm a lot more excited about Collins than I would have been about Breske or Stitt. September can't get here early enough for me!

Hell yes! I will be buying season tickets and doubling my Blue and Gold membership. I encourage everyone on here as well. Collins will need the resources! Let's get back to winning!!!

That is what it is going to take. All 28 or so of us here need to be on board, no more failure.

Just dropped five hundred into B&G Football Scholarship fund.

There you go boys, do what ever you can do!

Next!

I'm sure there will be 3 or 4 holdovers, Grable I'm sure will be one. Maybe not because of choice but out of necessity.

This isn't about Collins but Denver Post reported today that Bobby Kennedy is coming back to Colorado to coach the Buffs. He was the receivers coach at Texas for 7 years and will be the receivers coach for CU.

Does anyone know how much the coaches salary will be? I think I saw somewhere that he was making $140,000
at Alcorn. I'm not sure we can afford that, but I would assume it is more than what Downing was getting.

i'm crossing my fingers that we have at least $500,000 to spend on coaches and such things as afootball secretary. last years budget of $351,000 was pathetic. pull your head out jay, dig deep kay and pay a staff what it needs to be succesful, not what you think it should be. i hope earnest can get this done, or he's done before the first whistle blows in spring!

that's funny that you think #1 a football secretary has anything to do with success  and #2 you think that the athletic department purposefully pays crappy and pockets the rest. The department doesn't have $$ and that equals poor salaries - it's literally is as simple as that.

I'm hoping this hire re-energizes the donor base. I think it certainly helps getting the older Bears - guys like Tom Beck, McGuffy, etc., to open their check books. I've posted this before but I'll double my B and G donations because I think Collins is the right guy. We need support him by donating and also going back to the games at Nottingham.

bearcub, if you know how a 'good' program operates, there' always a a football secretary for the h.c. and his assitants. i know that wording of 'good program' has been scarce here lately. i have never thought anyone was 'lining pockets' there either. my true feeling is that we don't want to pay fair market value for our level of competetion. this is the 'big sky', not the rmac for goodness sake. the market bears about $400-500k for staff and asst's. if we want to be good, we have to pay good. or, we get what we have had..........
