I'm going to get at least 10 emails to him from variuos people, including myself, by tomorrow. Hell, I was looking for the ad in the Standard and I couldn't find it. We should have full-page color ad's. Yes, it might be a bit more, but since nothing else is being done. I'm sure the dept. has plenty of money in their budget.

Well someone was saying a billboard on Harrison was $1,500 a month, how much has the athletic department been paying for the WSU basketball billboard on I-15 that has been up near 31st street for the past 2 months? It's pretty sweet if you haven't seen it. Between 24th & 31st southbound.

I think a few bucks for a newspaper ad is reasonable. We would have zero newspaper coverage in the Standard period if we didn't have Jasen say, then again that doesn't cost the Marketing dept as far as I know.

The marketing departmene should and probably does write press releases at least. This is an easy thing they can do to let the Standard know when there is going to be some kind of special event at a game like the unveling of the Big Sky title banner, or awarding Coach Mac some award for however many games he's won, or even free t-shirt night. It takes like 30 minutes to write a little press release and email it to the Standard. Granted it's not guaranteed to get published, but if it does, it's worth it.

I think fans just need to be careful before calling for some guys head on a platter.

Has anyone asked the Marketing dept what they are doing to increase attendance at games? Who knows, maybe they have some sort of plan up their sleeves.

The marketing dept. was asked about 3 or 4 months ago at a board meeting for an outline of their goals and plans, still nothing from them. In other words they have no gameplan, and no freaking goals, Kim has been here long enough to at least establish a gameplan but yet he still doesn't have one. We do indeed need more people at games, but We also do need a marketing dept. to get the product into the view of the public.

Currently WSU is 3rd in the league in avg. home attendance at 3623 fans per game.
Are you freaking kidding me? Didn't WSU win the conf. and go to the NCAA tourney last year?
WSU has the best arena in conf. and a big population base to draw fans from, so what's the problem?

The problem is Neeminor69 hasn't been over their to put my boot in Kim's "A"!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Kim is a lazy, unimaginitive, and lathargic professional. Thats about all that can be said. I've heard a million ideas, but evidently they aren't at Kim's prestigous level.

I would have to agree Tal. I'm so upset at the situation that I have gone this morning to get flyers made to put them out in UV and PT. They look good! Kim is very lazy and needs to be fired, if not now then at the end of the season. He just sits in his office twittling his fingers like Homer Simpson. Doo dee doo doo doo! What a lame ***.

Sorry that I have been away again, but there are plenty of great bill boards around the city that could be used to advertise the sporting events here on campus. I will now list them.

1- The bill board that is on Harrison Blvd. just south of shadow valley drive, the one that is old, and the paint is falling off. At I time it said "WILDCAT COUNTRY"
2- The Electric billboard on Harrison at the south end of the campus. Who really cares about some crapy presentation.
3- The brand new LCD screen on highway 193 at the Davis Campus
4-The bill board on the SU building.

All I am saying is that there are plenty of great places that the school could get the news out there.
The other thing that I have thought about is a school night, or a family night. I wam working in a local Elementry school with kids that freak out when I wear Weber Gear, they love the idea of college. I know that having a bunch a kids running around may not be the best fan base, but They are loud, and they move a lot, and never sit down.
One more think. I was talking with the big BobandWaldo the other day, and he let me know that on mascot night we are going to have close to 10,000 or so fans. Now I am not a Business Major, but I have been to a Wal-Mart before. Correct me if I am wrong but is it not easier to keep a customer then to go and and get a new one every game. What I am saying is lets move that night up to the front of the season, and then advertise the hell out of that bad boy. get 10000 in that at the start of the season, and then fight like hell to hold on to them. Just a thought.

I think that's a great idea. By the time most kids get into high school and their early years of college at wsu, for some reason the idea of being anything more than a student who just participates in classes often seems kind of lame to them. If we get them while they are impressionable, they may well become life-long fans.

I also thought the clubs and teams should visit highschools and middle schools more to encourage kids to get more involved in the sports and various fan clubs. If we get the kids who are involved in high school to want to get involved in college, we will see a major difference in student activity.
