That call was BS but I don't think one call determines a game. For as good as Johnson-Coston played, if he makes that point blank lay up and his free throws we may have had a different game.

If the ref on the far end (next to Katz) heard Katz ask for a time-out and then heard the whistle from the base line sounded for the 5 sec call I think it's a time out......if the baseline ref blew the whistle and then the far end ref heard Katz, then it's a 5 sec call....since I can't HEAR Katz ask for the time out I can't determine which occurred first....I have to assume the refs discussed the scenario that I have laid out here and determined that Katz asked for the time out before the base line ref blew his whistle...BTW even if the call was correct, if I had been there and was a WSU fan I would have BOOED TOO....

Who else can set up, run, and execute the offense after Garrity and McKinney are gone? You are inferring from your statement that two guys who haven't played much and don't have the experience of Garrity and McKinney are going to suddenly be as good and keep the Hornets at the level they are experiencing now. Nich Hornsby, Cody Demps, and Justin Springs were virtual non factors. Eric Stuteville played well, but when the defense is zoning in on two guys, I hope, that the other three can get decent looks. One more thing you can suck on, it has taken Garrity three and a half seasons to get to this point and McKinney two and a half years. It takes time to build programs. And yes, Weber fans went a little too over board after losing Berry, Tres, Richardson, and Fulton. But we are talented...we are a center and point guard away from being pretty damn good. Also, we lose no one from this years team. A team that took your best Hornets team ever, to the wire. That game was close. I know on your forum you are all acting like it was a butt kicking, but lets all be honest. The Hornets were very lucky to get two Ws this past week. Yes, they earned them, but they are lucky.
As for the timeout. The baseline ref blew the whistle first and the other ref never did. It is a 5 sec call. Not saying Weber wins, but that gives the Cats the ball down 4 with plenty of time on the clock.

I've never said we would be as good next year, anywhere, anytime....This could be the best team we ever have, I have no way to know if we can ever reach this level again but I know we will not be bottom dwellers as long as Katz is there because if we continue to win this year our recruiting ground expands immensely. We live in the mostly populated state in the union thus more talent to recruit. You have to demonstrate the ability to win before the recruits will come. You should know this as that has been one of the best recruiting tools WSU has is their record. We do have 3 starters coming back next year with one of them being one of our primary ball handlers (Demps). He may not have handled the offense much the other night but usually he is one of the best facilitators we have (4apg and 2.5 ass/to ratio). I know you now know the importance of having a primary ball handler and center and we will have both of those returning (not as good at point guard I admit). Demps has averaged 14pts, 5.8rbs, shot 58% from the field and 83% from the line and has guarded the opponents best scorer every night. Try reading the 7th line of my quoted post....I DID WRITE WHAT I SAID I WROTE AND YOU CAN"T HANDLE IT......

That’s what I was getting at. Every fan base has their outliers. I’ve trolled this board off and on over the past few years and Tal always seems to take shots whenever he can. I singled him out because I knew it would draw a long post from him. :-D He seemed to gripe the most about the clock being an issue in the Hail Garrity last season, and now he is clamoring about the 5 second call…a call in which most college games the refs give the team the timeout. And weren’t we up by 4 when that happened? Hell Weebs gets the ball and Richardson or Golden probably would have just thrown up another brick anyways.webergrad02 said:
Regardless it was a damn good game and we are having a damn good year. I’m enjoying every minute of it. WSU will be fine, you guys have EVERYONE returning for another year if not 2 more so chill out. There is still plenty of time to regroup this season, and if that happens then you guys will be peaking just in time for the BSCT and anything can happen.
