WSU vs. USU color stealers in happy valley.

Cougsrock, what in the world are you doing at 5 freaking am?? If Weber could have made a few baskets, the game would have been a lot more interesting. BTW I hear that the officiating was suspect as always in the Mariott Cntr. It doesn't matter who plays there against the Y, they always get screwed by the officials!!!

Unfortunately I get the honor no the privilege of being able to be at work at 4:30 in the morning :'((someone kill me now)

As far as the officiating goes any team that loses on an opposing court is always going to complain about the officials thats why they shouldn't rely on the officials to decide the game and just go out there and win. IMHO it would of been allot worse than what the final score was if BYU-Provo would of gotten complacent when they got there big lead and started to play sloppy, not taking anything away from you guys they played allot better the second half but BYU-Provo IMO just got sloppy the second half

I am NOT blaming the loss on the officials. If you read my post, you would see that I was attributing the loss to some poor shooting on the part of WSU. Weber shot only 33% for the game. The officials did NOT force the players to miss the shots! Sorry you get(have) to work at 4. There is nothing good about that time of day!

O.K., as I drove down I-15 to the game last night I noticed my chest getting tighter, and my breathing was becoming erratic, I wasn't nervous because of the game, rather I was getting increasingly nervous as I realized I would be spending several hours in Provo (lol). It's like walking onto the set of The Brady Bunch, or Happy Days or something like that.
Anyway then came the opening prayer, yes i did say the opening prayer in which this guy prayed for Ref's to call the game "fair and square." apparently this guy's prayer was a Little off target because those ref's were neither fair nor square. So after the prayer they turn off the lights and start playing some song by JAY-Z, and have their player introductions. I'm sorry but prayer and JAY-Z don't really go so well together. At this point I thought it couldn't get any worse but then at halftime it did. BYU-Provo played clips of the 1984 Holiday Bowl on the jumbo tron. Get over yourselves already that was 23 years ago i think it's time for you all to move on. Then the Cougarett's dancing girls came out and were wearing something that looked a lot like maternity clothes and they couldn't get off the court fast enough as far as I'm concerned. The game finally ended and I could finally get away from all those myopic Coug' fans and get out of that Barn they call an arena and at last get back to Ogden.
Thank GOSH I don't have to look at anymore FAT BYU-Provo co-eds sucking down more ice cream than I thought was possible.
Anyway, Coug's suck but not nearly as bad as their fans do.

p.s. who do I have to kill for them to put the caffeine back into my coke?

Just to clear things up Coug' fan, I don't like you, or your crappy little town, but I really don't like the m'utes either.

Sounds like church ball isn't the only brawl that starts with a prayer...BYU basketbrawl also starts with a prayer, which is I guess if you think about it is about the same, the only difference is that Church ball they don't disrespect the prayer with Jay-Z.

I also had to endure the torturous experience of watching three Big Sky Refs screw over a Big Sky school. The Marriot Curse continued, BYU-Provo had 15 FTM in the first half to Weber's 0 FTA. Come On, is there any doubt as to why the Zoobies had a 20 pt lead at halftime? The refs were somewhat more "FAIR" in the second half, hence why we won the second half. However, like I have said previously, the game is played by the players and we missed a lot of good quality looks. Heavens, our big men couldn't hit a lay up in the first half. Does Art think he's a 3? Get inside!! Where is our guard play? We did play better in the second half, but I'd like to point out the fact that Weber played their second team for most of the half... Maybe they should be our STARTERS! On a more positive note, I think our defense was much improved over the effort last week against Utah. If the refs call the game a little more even in the first half, and we hit a some of those missed inside looks, that game definitely has a different outcome. I do have to give it to the Y, they have a good team, but so does Weber, I can't wait till we play up to our potential and abililty.
On another note, as always there were a number of Zoobies who purposefully sat behind us trying to start a fight... Unfortunately for them, We are all big guys, once they realized how big we are they hurridly left, truly courageous USU color stealers (cougars are scavangers). The halftime entertainment was a proposal... Not Really, but that would have been fitting.
Just for the record... When the U plays the Y of P I really wish that both of them could lose... Like the Aggies say. "Y don't U just kiss my A!" I'm for the schools that never get any attention, but are just as good! It makes me sick that we played like crap... I'm kinda getting sick of hearing about how the real season doesn't start till January. Darn't, the season started on Nov. 10! These in state games are just as important for Weber and Ogden. Phil Johnson (Jazz Asst. Coach and former WSU player and coach), once said, that when the bigger schools started playing us they had the expectation that Weber was a joke and that the games would be automatic W's. Weber has never seen it that way! Thats why we have always been competitive. This is our way of showing that we are equal, as good, and Better than them!! We can compete on any level with all the other in state schools. Go WEBER!

I still don't believe they say a prayer when the game starts at an NCAA game even at a private school of religion.

What does Zoobie mean?

The soda really has no caffeine? Even colas? What about Mtn Dew? What about the beer? Does it have alcohol?

YES!! the Y of P say's a prayer prior to all insitutional events: Be that a football game, volleyball match, dance recital, scripture reading, square dance, proposal (it was find your partner day in Provo (lol) yesterday) or basketball game. You just need to actually attend one of our games down in Happy Valley. Oh by the way... didn't our football team play Boise State this year?? Yeah we did, better than any team the Y of P faced this year. For those who may not know we are playing Utah next season and the Y of P in 2009. Coach Guy of Utah State is trying to get us on the schedule (He originally wanted to play us every year, but the WACK which is better than the MWC is to large and it is to difficult, but we will play USU a few times in the next decade.)

I for one enjoyed watching the game played in HELL! Weber is growing into being one of the powerhouses over these in state schools. And Taldude, I know the season started on Nov 10, but the only games that really matter to me are the big sky regular season games. We will repeat as big sky champs. Weber will triumph!

I know Weber will be victorious in the Sky, but it's so satisfying to beat the instate teams and to have a good preseason record. Just in case we win the Sky and, lord forbid, we lose in the Tourney, having a good preseason keeps the hopes of a postseason alive.

If we win the regular season title but lose the conf. tourney then we would still be in the NIT.
I know the NIT is not WSU's goal, this conf. is going to be really fun to watch this year.

As long as we don't pull a USU...which means lose every year in the NIT

i have been to 4 BYU-Provo football games...but 3 of them i wasn't old enough to know better. 1992 Jo Pa vs Lavell, 1990 utah, 1993 airforce, 2004 georgia tech and i don't recall a prayer at the games. i think it must be the marriot only since it is considered a church.

BYU-Provo is hitler? granted i don't really like the cougs (lol) but i doubt BYU-Provo is a bunch of nazis and commies. I'd say the school is actually pretty good, but their sports teams and their fans/alumni are a bunch of jokes. stupid? yes. Nazis? No
