#16 Portland State vs #1 Kansas Thread

I would say that it's beyond a religion. I was an undegrad in the Midwest and know that KS actually had to pass a law allowing folks to gift their basketball tickets in their wills. They're like the Green Bay Packers in terms of the possibility anyone ever gives up a season ticket.
 
Congratulations Vikings !!! Welcome to the tourney. You deserve it, nice run. I dont like the time of our game though. Thats gonna be early here, you guys will be watching basketball over breakfast.
 
Toto, I have a feeling we are not in Kansas anymore....for whomever asked.

I have a feeling that no matter what board you visit, you will find KU fans to be extremely knowledgeable, extremely passionate about basketball, and extremely polite. Not all teams or programs have fans that act like that, but I hope your experience in dealing with us leaves you with a positive experience in the tourney (even though the chances of you winning the first round game are extremely remote, given your seed).

I do have to say that, after crunching the numbers, you certainly shouldn't be a 16 seed, and I hope the Hawks have their heads on straight. There's no way we shoot 65% from 3 like we did against Texas again.

Webprince does a lot of statistical analysis and does a pretty good job breaking down the games and predictions for success, and I am sure he will put one together for this game as well.

He's pretty unbiased for a KU fan and has even picked a few of the losses we've had.

I also feel you guys should have been seeded higher according to what you've done this year but let's have a good game and enjoy the time at the dance.
 
Thanks KU fans. We understand the astronomical odds we face playing a team like KU. Hope we can play to the best of our ability although the Jayhawks will have something to say about that.

Congrats to you Viking Fans! I too have looked at the numbers were stunned that you are a 16 seed. I would have said 14 for sure.

Alright. This is going to be fun. No better time than March, even though its raining and 40 degrees in KC.

It always seems that some one has a career day against us. Someone goes berserk and and starts draining 3's like there's no tomorrow. Its generally not the "star"for the opposing team, but someone who's good and just goes crazy.

So, who's it going to be for the Viks?

Deonte Huff I guess, the star of the team is Dominguez, but Huff could go off at any time.

Oak Harbor......man you are the lone KU fan in that area. I live in Wenatchee, on the other side of the mountains.

I am the lone 'hawk ive seen up here. I have to make the drive to Seattle just to see a few friendly faces, and even then they are few and far between for sure.

There is a family I know in my area that bleeds blue and red, they take KU basketball pretty seriously to say the least. Beyond that I don't see to many KU fans here in Cougar country.
 
On behalf of all PSU fans, I have to say thanks to the KU fans for being so nice and respectful. In my opinion, you are the classiest bunch of fans we've encountered on this board. We know a few other groups (that means you, Griz fan) who could learn a thing or two from you!
