#16 Portland State vs #1 Kansas Thread

Sorry for inaccuracy. I'm in France, and can't follow certain aspects of the game. I tried to do my best to tell what they could do, not what they have done, or will do. As to center, going to Arthur might be a good option if Morrison isn't in, as Thomas is much faster than Kaun or Jackson. At guard, I know all three can play the two positions, so I went by minutes, not who actually starts.

Not to be argumentative but I'm going to doubt that you have a big faster than Kaun or Jackson. There aren't many in the country, Micheal Beasley is faster than Jackson but not Kaun and the only other big I can think of that runs as effectively as those two is Arthur. They have flaws but running isn't one of them. Kaun is an incredible athlete with the hands of a stone mason. He isn't an effective offensive threat outside about 5 feet but he is an excellent defender down low and out to the perimeter. Jackson struggles against big bigs, he has some offensive talent and can step out to 15 and shoot but isn't really a creator like Arthur. He rebounds well but is a less effective defender than Kaun. Aldridge, the freshman who gets a few minutes is kind of a combo of the two. The first thing you will notice about him is that his arms are unnaturally long. He runs well but not like the other 3, has great hands and an effective offensive game from 10-12' in. Rebounds better than any of our other bigs and is a good shot blocker but only an average defender. He has a tendency to leave the ground to easily and pick up dumb fouls.

As to the guards, Sherron Collins will play the one whenever he is on the floor with Robinson, Chalmers or maybe Stewart at the off position. Chalmers rarely plays the point, like less than 10 minutes total this year. Robinson will start at the 1 and play about half of the minutes there.

Thanks to all the great Jayhawk fans! You people are great compared to our sister schools Oregon and Oregon State and are less than gracious when we play them. KU sets the standard for sportsmanship.

Just wanted to say congrats on the tourney bid and good luck against the Beakers. I'll be watching here in the Islands. /users/31/07/37/smiles/595146.gif

85...

...you seem to be up for some Timbers Army lessons.

Use up the swearing DURING the game (sometimes before- I did go with a "**** this Rock Chalk crap" on the other board), and for whatever friendly jabs there may be in the bar. Sing, chant, and yell during the game like there's no tomorrow.

After the game, if the opposing fans dare enter the bar, buy 'em a beer before they do it. Have a laugh. (Does not apply to S**ttle fans... who don't show up anyway.)

(Timbers- Portland's soccer team. Timbers Army- fans who congregate in the north end of PGE Park. Becoming famous worldwide for, well, a lot of fun interspersed with various forms of anarchy and otherwise LOUD support of a team not even in MLS)

Wow, what a beating. Thanks for the lesson, Kansas, we'll see you next year! /users/31/07/37/smiles/595146.gif Until then, I'll be rooting for you in this tourney.

Go Viks! This season was a very nice start.
