2008 Recruiting Thread

I'm pretty sure he's unrated. The Viks are full at point anyway. Maybe he could play at OSU /users/31/07/37/smiles/700923.gif

As to football, I'd bet he'll play safety in college.

Last weekend was a big one for the Portland State football program in hosting a number of their top in-state targets, but some prospects from other states were also in town. Nick Gale made the trip down to the Rose City from East Wenatchee, Washington for his official visit and not long after the gritty 6-foot-4, 244-pound defensive end got there, the Eastmont High School senior knew he had found the right place for his college career.
 
Hopefully, you will be able to give us some additional info. on this young man. The fact he is an outstanding wrestler makes me smile. Go Viks!
 
On one site I saw him listed as 275 for wrestling, well heavier than listed for football. That's certainly encouraging.

Hopefully they can get some of the local guys who visited this past weekend to verbal as well. Interesting that Broadus comes in a week after the large local contingent. Where's all the info on the Sac guys that Jeff Cott is always talking about?
 
The Cali guys arrive friday, kind of heard there are about 13 kids in for official visits, not all from California. They will be all over town with the coaches the next few days. Not all of them are verbally committed yet, let's hope a few days with Jerry Glanville seals the deal.
 
David Gertson - Defensive Lineman from Westview high school. 6-1, 285 lbs, he was being recruited by several big sky teams and has decided to play for the Viks. Was being considered to play the fullback position, but since Kalpin is coming to the park blocks, I think he will stay as a DT.
 
How about a consolidated list of all known PSU recruits from the high school and JC level along with the possible FBS transfers?

HS and JC can be found at oregonpreps.rivals.com. I don't think possible FBS transfers are tracked. That'd be against NCAA rules.

We are getting killed so far on securing o-linemen. Montana has nabbed 2 out of Oregon. One from Milwaukie and one from Ashland. Hope we can make up the difference from elsewhere.
