2010-2011 Recruiting Thread

I'm interested in seeing who we get at QB, as Bo is only with us for 1 more year i believe.

I think we're ok at QB. Obviously, Mitchell and Gauthier will be a Seniors next year, but we've also got Scott Burgett, Greg Panelli, and Anthony Vito. I don't think we'll see any QB's this recruiting class, but just my opinion.

It looks like the 2011 class is really coming together. Scout has Gomez and Tevega listed as 2 star recruits, and Rivals has Withnell and Tally as 2 star recruits, and McCarthy as a 3 star recruit. We can't put much on these sites, be we can definitely see we have some nice kids coming in.

Cassidy Curtis OL from Colorado committed to the eagles. Glad to have a third Colorado kid now on the roster. The first two Kaufman And Ceja has not done to bad.

Has family in Eastern Washington and North Central Idaho and wants to be a Physical Therapist like his mother.

Do you think there's a chance Cody will be playing as a true freshman, with JC Sherritt graduating?

Looks like there's an offer on the table to Jaleel Awini from Aurora, Colorado. Also has offers from Air Force and Colorado State.

He sounds like a great athlete regardless of which position is plays as, and smart too, 3.5 gpa.

another verbal commit is Tevin Williams of North Mason, a wr/db. http://www.kitsapsun.com/news/2011/jan/27/north-mason-star-commits-to-eastern-washington/

Ranger has him on the list, just put Devin instead of Tevin. ;)

A QB with that speed and love to pull down and run would kill defenses in the Big Sky, just like Denarious McGhee did this last year and AE and Cadet have done at App State. Would love for EWU to pick up an QB who can run.

I noticed today on rivals that Cody McCarthy was added to the commitment list as a solid verbal, I think it was between us and being a walk-on at Boise State. You would think being from Boise and being Idaho's Gatorade player of the year would have guaranteed him a full ride to Boise State, but I guess not. The biggest knock on him was his speed which rivals says his 40 time was a 4.7. I've seen a lot of his highlights and his speed on the field looks way faster then his 40 time shows. From what I've seen he has good football speed and a great nose for the ball, a real ballhawk. If he signs, he will have Sherritt's big shoes to fill, but from what I've seen from his tapes there's no doubt that he has the potential, and who knows we might have another future Buchanan award winner on our hands.

Agreed, he could be a great one.

Sounds like a good one, but for the record he'll have Johnson and Washburn's shoes to fill. :D

Rivals has McCarthy as a three star prospect. The only three star I know of who played at Eastern was Tom Owens who transferred from Wazzu (Ask the Griz about him!). Of course we signed a three star prop quarterback who never saw the playing field - or maybe a classroom, and I think was gone before the end of his first quarter. I'm sure our physical therapy program helped a lot to get McCarthy.

Another verbal commit: TJ Boatright 6'5" 225 TE/OLB Vancouver Wa

http://gshlfootball.com/national-letter-of-intent-day-sneak-peek-update

Welcome and thanks for posting that, JSB.

NC is paying off...
The 6′5″ 225 Tight End had narrowed his choices down to Eastern Washington and Portland State, and decided to go with Eastern.
“My visit to Eastern was great,” said Boatright. “I loved all the people and the coaches.”
The fact that the Eagles just defeated Delaware 20-19 earlier this month to win the Division 1-AA National Championship played a part as well.
“It’s hard to pass up the National Champions,” he added.
