While it's not listed on Rivals, I heard that the Hornets are one of a couple programs that have an offer extended to Daniel Stewart, a RB from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas. It was mentioned during the Bishop Gorman v. Booker T. Washington (Miami) game on Friday night.

Scout shows Vi Sarver, K De La Salle as being recruited

JaJuan Lawson QB, 2 star out of Petaluma

IMHO though with the depth we allegedly have i think we should go after only 2-3 star guys and talk to about 300 kids throughout the West US and end up with a soliid 15-20.

I saw De La Salle play St. Mary's in Stockton and the field goal kicker was Tyler Duncan. He has a cannon for a leg. Every kickoff was out of the end zone, pt afters were almost out of the stadium. Don't think we got a shot at him. I can't even find a Vi Sarver on their roster. Sorry

From my experience with the recruitment of players by D1AA programs is that they very seldom offer kids this early...they will bring them in and talk to them, they will have them at camp and visit often (attend games, campus, etc...) but very seldom do they offer.

The biggest reason is if they offer a 2 or 3 star kid that is under the radar of the 1A teams, he is likely to get a better offer from a larger school with a full scholarship. This happens all the time and even late in the game...recently (2 years ago) Sac state had offered a under the radar OL in January and UCLA, going through a coaching change, offered the kid a week before signing day...if you were the kid, even though you verballed to Sac State, what would you do?

Another reason is that on the West Coast there are less universities than the East coast...even larger West coast schools will offer a good 2 star kid if their budget doesnt allow full national recruiting coverage...ie: SJSU and SDSU. On the East coast there are so many more schools large schools with national travel budgets that the D1AA teams can usually offer 2star recruits early, knowing that the bigger schools will be after Cali, Texas and other 3 star + kids.

As for the Rivals, ESPN, and other recruiting lists, take them with a grain of salt...they aren't double checked or verified at all. Usually a dad or paid recruiting service send ESPN, Rivals, etc a list of schools that the player may have gotten a letter from, not an OFFER...its all great for hte fans, but doesn't mean didly squat to the Staffs of the Universities....ability,, speed, size, game film and grades is all that matters.

Its been 18 hours and what can I say, I'm like Rob Ford and this program is crack, I can't stay away. I'm Rihanna to Sac State football's Chris Brown, I get my ass kicked physically and emotionally and come back for more. On to recruiting!!!!

Phantom I feel the same way. FWIW I sent a note to Wanless, and urge you to do the same. I think the more the admin is aware of weary fans, the more I think some changes get made.

It looks like the Aggies have nabbed a nice Sacramento player. Sought-after dual-threat 2-star QB CJ Spencer has given a Verbal Commit to UC Davis last night. Spencer had Offers from UM, UNLV, Army, Cal Poly, and others. Following Coach Gould's surprising 4th-place finish (the Aggies were picked to finish 11th), this is a nice pickup for the Aggies.

CJ Spencer ‏"@CJForSIX 14h Its Official! I'm committing to UC Davis! GO Aggies!"

JC Transfer Morgan Nevin from SBCC (MLB) has committed to Sacramento State. Looks like he has a chance to step in immediately for Todd Davis at the Mike backer position... h

Looks like three more transfers, including a drop down WR from Nevada that has good size

We had a large recruit class last season, and not many seniors graduating this season. Safe to say we have a small incoming recruit class this time around? My feeling is the needs are RBs (>180 lbs) and everything on D.

the JCFootball link doesn't load properly. Here's the link from SBCC,
http://sbccfootball.blogspot.com/2013/12/evans-nevin-sign-with-cincinnati-and.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

I wonder why he wasn't included in the hornet athletic dept. release?

Maybe those 3 are spring enrollees, and Nevin won’t enroll until fall? Or they’ll follow up with another release to include everyone…or wait to include on the signing day release this winter.

If he signed yesterday, then he's a spring enrollee. I guess it could be that his LOI didn't arrive till after the press release was done. I know SDSU received two of their JUCO LOI's late yesterday. In the evening. And another LOI today, but tha one is from an early HS grad. So may be it's like you're saying. A full PR will be issued in Feb.
