I think it's fairly safe to say that Greer is a commit at this point, so I'll add him to the board.

Awesome, but do you think EWU recruited him as a RB? He doesn't seem to fit our mold for RB and is more likely to be a DE.

With that size, he looks more like a LB to me. 6'1" seems kinda short for a DE at this level.

John Goldwire is 6'1. Solely on his Hudl, he is listed as DE/RB.

I'm not sure what Renard Williams and Andru Pulu were listed at, but I'd suspect they were an honest 6'1". I know that I'm about 6'1" on the nose, and those two were pretty much exactly at my eye level.

6'1" is a good height for DT's. Greer would have to add 50+ pounds. Like his speed and explosion at LB.

I love to see the early verbals for the linemen. Any idea if there will be any running backs recruited this year?

We have a very soft commit and (?) commit from two runningbacks. Soft from Malcohm Williams and the (?) from JT Valenzuela.

Any word on if the rumors of Baldwins departure has affected recruiting and if him staying has an opposite effect?

clawman,
I was hoping all the Rumors about Coach leaving /not be leaving, could have waited until after the Playoffs, was surprised to hear the question asked at Coaches Show on Monday Night. I think the OSU Coaching job was mentioned last night on TV, and Coach was being considered. Should he leave, I will be the 1st to say "Congratulations" very well deserving. :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: He earned every consideration, check out his time here at EWU, won lost record, Big Sky Championships, Playoffs. Not to forget the National Championship 2010, coming from behind against Delaware State 19-0, and winning 20-19. Should he stay, I would hope there are some monies for him and his Assistant Coaches.      :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Will check out practice tonight, even with the rain. Must protect myself from the rain. "Brown Sugar Melts" ;) ;) ;) Got my drift? Go Eagles !!!!! Vic Wallace

Vic;
Yes, the fact that Beau did not get the OSU job is bitter sweet. I have so much respect for him and his coaching abilities I really want what is best for him but I also want what is best for Eastern and him staying here is best.
Let us know how practice is going in the rain. Do you know of any injuries or guys that are recovered?
As far as brown sugar, this is a family blog so I will just say I really like brown sugar!!
Basketball tonight on 700 ESPN with Larry Weir.

hard to say. right now is the quiet period of recruiting where there can be limited contact between coaches and recruits.

clawman,
Glad to hear you like "Brown Sugar" ;) ;) ;) . Practice went great yesterday afternoon. #28 Jalen Moore RB, will miss this Saturday Game, he will be ready for next week game, are you :o? I always think positive when it comes to the "Eagles". I must say the Players are very positive about the game tomorrow. Saw #72 Aaron Neary, OL practicing, he thinks he will be ready for Saturday Game,     thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: :thumb: Did sit in the bleachers by the scoreboard for the entire practice, weather was kind of warm, but little windy. Got home crashed, now here I am wide awake on the Computer, and will be heading to see WBB @ 11:am. See you tomorrow for another "VICTORY". Vic Wallace

Anybody know if there have been any UAB players visiting EWU?

The only Big Sky team that's hosted any UAB players, at this point, has been North Dakota. A lot of them are heading to South Alabama.

Ben Schrider** has given a verbal to Richmond.

Jusstis Warren*** has committed to Washington.

I'm expecting some big news on the committed list around the weekend of January 16th. It could prove to be a huge weekend for EWU Football.

The Eags class of 2015 will be one of the fastest recruiting classes in school history by position. Count me in as one VERY excited Eagles fan...
