Kline recently committed to Indiana State (an FCS program). This hurts, a legit 4-star quarterback leaving the state for another FCS program, it wouldn't hurt as much if it was an FBS program. This is quietly a big loss.

Don't feel too bad. Mike Sanford is a respected offensive coach. It could also be a sign that is good QB talent in stock for the hornets.

yeah, I wasn't too impressed with that guy at Cal. Rather have someone who has been in the system for a few years like Vercher or Kniffin
 
It appears that Sam Whitney from the state champs Folsom committed to the Hornets. Another great pick up. It is nice to see that we are getting a lot of quality local recruits to stay home..I can't help but think this is going to help attendance. Go Hornets!!!

8 local players. That is awesome. Can't believe they did this with an interm coach title for a year. Not that Sears got contract that is huge. Wonder what rest of class looks like?

My bad. You're right, OH. The guy I was thinking of is at ARC, I believe.

Should have picked up some Folsom WR's, though. Turns out that the Folsom WRs Coach is Bobby Fresques, former Hornet star QB and receivers coach during my time with the Hornets. Outstanding coach....
 
I would like to see the WR they get first. I know they signed 3 last year. So I am sure they are not going to recruit a lot of WR's. Don't think there are a lot of Big Time WR's in the area.
 
Malcolm Thomas is a very solid receiver from this area. He had an offer from Idaho and he was getting a look from Colorado State and Utah. I know I saw something earlier this year that he was consider one of the top receivers in the area. He will be a nice addition to our receiving group.

There are 9 FR WRs on the 2014 roster, only 3 (Hennie, Maher, and Smith) saw action. There will be a lot of players looking to land those open WR spots along side Agude.

There will be a void to fill at TE as well. Sander returns but he has had health issues. The other 3 TEs on the roster saw limited action. The Hornets will need a TE to step up in the passing game.

Sander is solid. Played the last four games of the season and is a true D1 T/E. He is also one of the hardest working players on the team. Watch for a big season with Kniffin moving the ball around to field. Rumor has it we have another TE commit as well. The TE core with not be a spot that needs much worry for 2015.
 
Coulter and Cox both started games. Word is to Harrison is returning. Maher was playing TE during the season. So I would expect him to be the more WR type TE. With Kelly being the recruiting coordinator I am sure he is not ignoring the TE spot. Who is TE we have committed?

I expect next years team to be a little young but we have always been young. We will get older by players actually sticking around.
 
For the sake of accuracy...the DC at Folsom is not Val Laolagi...and never has been. When Lou Bias left for ARC the DC job at Folsom was filled by Sam Cole. Sam, an extraordinary young coach, was in charge of the secondary when Lou was the DC.
