• Hi Guest,

We've updated the site to combine all the forums that were part of the Big Sky Fans Network into one location. This will make it easier to navigate and participate in all the discussions for each school without having to have multiple accounts, etc. We are still working out some tweaks but please let us know if you notice anything.

With the migration, in some circumstances, your username could have been merged with one of your other usernames from the other forums. If this is the case, you can request to change your username in your account details page of your profile.
  • Hi Guest, want to participate in the discussions, keep track of read/unread posts and more? Create your free account and increase the benefits of your eGriz.com experience today!
  • Guest, do want an ad free experience on BigSkyFans.com among other benefits? Upgrade your account today!

Thanks for the continued support. Cheers!

2017 Recruiting: 19 Verbals - Updated 01/31

I meant to post this earlier in the thread, but don't expect to hear much in terms of commitments until after the new year. We're in the dead period for recruiting until Jan 4th. On campus visits will begin after the 12th of Jan, which is typically when we get a lot of our commitments.

Recruiting Calendar
12-16-16 thru 12-18-16 Quiet Period.
12-19-16 thru 01-03-17 Dead Period
01-04-17 thru 01-08-17 Quiet Period.
01-09-17 thru 01-12-17 Dead Period
10-13-17 thru 01-28-17 Contact Period
01-29-17 Quiet Period
01-30-17 thru 02-02-17 Dead Period
February 1st is Signing Day

Quiet period
The quiet period tightens things a bit more, preventing any off-campus contact or viewing. Visits to the college's campus and written or electronic communications are still permitted.
Coaches often try to have prospects visit campus unofficially during this time in the spring and early summer, so that they can become familiar with campus.

Dead period
The dead period is the most restrictive. No in-person contact is allowed, even if a prospect makes a visit to the college campus. Written and electronic communications are still permitted.
And yet, prospects still do decide to commit to schools in late December and early January, often because they've considered all their options, taken all their visits, and are ready to pull the trigger.

Held offers from Air Force, Hawaii, Idaho, MSU, PSU, Davis and Weber.

Gurley and Moore... Big pick ups. In a couple of years, they may wind up being the two starting CBs. Both have great speed.

Interesting thing to note, we have offers out to HS teammates of both Gurley and Moore. Hope to keep that Archbishop Murphy and Kamiakin pipeline leading to Cheney!
