Can't get all the good ones, but maybe Coach passed on these guys and they took the next best option. No matter, this is looking like a special class. Personally, what would take this class from awesome to absolutely amazing would be the commitment of Jacob Whitmer.

Agreed. I think I hit the end of the Twitter-verse trying to figure out who still has an offer. We have a good class. Just need a couple studs to step up at a few open positions.
I agree that Whitmer would be a great get. However, I also believe that we have some exceptional TEs already in the program. We didn't see them last year because some were red shirting and we had an All American starting, with a seasoned backup. We won't miss a beat at TE or WR, or RB, or QB. We have recruited depth at DB and DL. I think we will be fine on defense, but that is where the biggest needs and questions are. I think there were a lot of early offers that became iffy once we had the year that we did. Success on the field has led to even more success in the recruiting efforts. :coffee:

Just announced he has received a Preferred Walk On with Weber on his twitter feed
Another 4.4, speed guy. Looks like a good cover corner. Also recruited by EWU, PSU, and several others.

Signing party next Wednesday, 5:30PM at the stadium.

I hope there are a few players on the roster on the verge of break out seasons. Right now QBs are unproven commodities. TE, DB, and DL lost multiple quality starters, so we will need more than one guy at each position to step up. I trust coach has the system in place, but I also realize that we had studs graduate at all those positions. It would be nice to get to where we have the depth on the roster and just reload each year. Not certain we are there yet.

Nice work!! Love all the information.

I agree with you WSUWildcat. The Cats lost a number of really good players to graduation and it is really going to be tough to replicate what was done this year, next year. I share your concerns about some of our positions. We are losing perhaps three of the best players to ever suit up for the Cats: McKay Murphy, Taron Johnson, and Andrew Vollert (I'm guessing all three will end up in the NFL). Of course, we are also losing our stud QB. However, at this time last year, there weren't a lot of us who were thoroughly convinced that Cantwell would even start. So, to me, that is a sign of hope with that position. There are a few guys who have a ton of potential on our roster. Same can be said for DL and to a lesser extent TE. Personally, I think Jay will find another gem or two for the secondary. If anything, it'll be a lot of fun watching who grows up.

Not saying it is gloom and doom. I am really excited for next season. I also think there are a couple studs who are ready to take over.

Hero Sports just published an article listing Weber as the number four team most likely to win the National Championship. I would be happy with another good run through the conference and in the playoffs.

Jacob Whitmer just committed to Western New Mexico

This had me scratching my head. His Twitter post is actually from three years ago. He just reposted it, and said now he's signing D1, to show how far he's come.

 Tops off an already strong recruiting class. Having a 6'6" target to throw to will certainly help out the new QB.

Awesome I believe that even though we are taking some loses on both sides great coaching will prevail.... stakes are high being ranked in the top 5 and I am sure the kids are aware and want it even more..... My little brother Kevin Smith tells me every time I talk to him... We are a family up here.... he loves the environment and has faith in his team mates..... 2018 let’s start it off with Utah...

QB from American Fork

Awesome!! Good get, but that would be three QBs in this class. We already have Shaw, Miles, Jenks, Hymas and Ricedorff on the roster and I'm assuming coming back next Fall. Maybe two of the three are mission kids? Maybe two or three of the current QBs aren't in fact coming back? Who knows...

My money is on Jenks or Ricedorff leading the team next Fall.

Probably one goes on a mission and one is a PWO so he is almost zero risk if he doesn't pan out. Looking back on our past four classes none of our HS QB signees have made an impact yet. I would guess less than 50% hit rate is pretty typical for most programs.
