This recruiting class has 3 or 4 guys who would be playing in the PAC12 if not for the special circumstances that brought them to WSU. Will they turn out to be stars for us? You don't really know until the footballs begin to fly in the fall. On paper, it certainly appears to be an excellent class. A lot is riding on hard work and development, as usual. Almost always, it seems, there will be a totally unheralded kid step up to be a star. You can count on that happening.

Wow! With this signing there are now 7 QBs :yikes: on the roster. And that doesn't include recently signed Bronson Barron who's expected to go directly on a mission.
Ricedorff - Sr
Shaw - Jr
Constantine - Jr (JC Transfer)
Miles - So
Jenks - RFr
Hymas - Fr (RM)
Weisser - Fr

I feel that the competition will be wide open. There may be a front runner after spring ball, but the competition will open again in summer camp. The great thing is that there is a lot to choose from. Like I've said before, we won't miss a beat at QB, or on offense for that matter. Looks to me like we have brought in some good defensive talent as well. I have fairly high expectations for the coming year.WSUWildcat said:I think it will be a two way battle between Ricedorff and Jenks in the Spring. I would be surprised if Shaw ever sees another snap. Maybe Miles and Constantine have an outside shot at one of the top two spots this Fall. Weisser will redshirt. Berry will probably redshirt or maybe greyshirt. Barron on a Mission. No idea what happens with Hymas.

I understand your cautious outlook. I base my opinion on what we already had in the program. I think that we return an intact OL, a stable of good RBs, Some WRs who showed a lot of potential, A transfer/drop down QB and some talented QB underclassmen. Add to that, we added some high level recruits at all of those positions. I would actually go as far as saying the O will be better next year. I have more questions on the defensive side of the ball. It will be interesting to see how far off I am next fall.SWWeatherCat said:oldrunner said:I feel that the competition will be wide open. Wow, is it possible to be too optimistic? Weber loses an OC, a highly underrated QB, an all-American TE, and two very talented WRs. I don't doubt the magic Hill can create but realize it will take some to not miss a beat. I'm hopeful for the draft class and those waiting in the wings but the future success of the offense is far from automatic.
