2025 Recruiting Thread

I’m exhausted keeping up with the recruiting updates lately! From what I’ve seen, put out offers to 3 JC OL. 1 commit from ARC, offer to ARC, and an Offer to Georgia Military Academy. Picked up another commit, DT from Murray State and put out offers to a TE from Kansas State and Houston Christian. Got a commit from a 3 star corner from St Mary’s (Stockton). Offer to a claimed Freshman All American DB from William and Mary and a DB out of UCONN. A Freshman All American DT from Mary Hardin Baylor…

I think… I think, that was all that happened in the last like 48 minutes or something. I’ll check back in 3 minutes for probably 4 more FBS transfers 😅

I will say, this amount of out of state signees/transfers and FBS drop downs does certainly make a need for real team building in the locker room and getting every body to buy in. As great as this new offensive scheme could be… as now Head Coach Marion has to remember the responsibility he has to the whole team, play calling won’t solve everything.

This has been unreal! Are you tracking this through 247Sports and Twitter? Or are there some other sites you see these updates?

Makes you wonder what he might have been able to accomplish had his hiring hiring occurred a bit earlier, like before the early signing period started. He got a late start on both the portal and HS signees.

FWIW, the transfer portal ends on 12/28 and the next HS signing period doesn't begin until February 5th.

The window closes, but players who got into the portal by the 28th can still be picked up later. Sac State doesn't begin classes until Jan 21 I believe, so kids can still have some time to make the switch before the Spring semester.

That's the extent of my portal knowledge....
 
Logan Tanner, SDSU TE has committed.

This is a lot of FBS players. Certainly more than a normal year and within a very short time span. I really want to listen in to one of those phone conversations, because I can only imagine what he's selling after this school went 1-7 in the Big Sky.

There's also a spring portal window of April 16 - April 25.
 
I wonder if any of our key guys with JC experience will be back under the exemption? Anyone heard anything on those guys? We could have a Kicker and Starting WR back and some experienced depth.

If my count is correct there are 20 graduating seniors. 7 of those players transferred over from JC's.

The Hornets inked 10 players during the early signing period. In the past week they've reportedly added "around" 23 new players via the portal and via verbal commitments.

I can't recall how many players they've lost through the portal, but I gotta imagine the open roster spots are becoming limited.
 
i am sure I’ll get a smart remark but I’ll ask anyway, what does #NOS mean? All the players are tweeting that out
