It's just how it Works Nevada is a way bigger name than we are with better facilities an better conference affiliation if he wants to make it to the PAC 12 this is his fastest option

A lot of assumptions in this logic. I would argue that Reno, Nevada has just as much to offer in terms of "quality of life" as Cheney/Spokane does. Also, our program is only the top five at our division. There are bigger and better things than the FCS. Baldwin is a go getter and I guarantee he would love to be the best of the BEST level of football, not just settle for the FCS. And Money=Comfort, so your new equation should be:

winning, control, and job security < money and comfort.

Hell yes, I would take money and comfort over that.

If the rumored contract is true, Baldwin would be earning 500,000 a year more than he does at this position. For my own personal context, I could have a cushy job for $5,000 less, but choose to work at a gang banger school for the pay raise.

Nevada will never be a top 5 program in the FBS, or a National Title contender. That's just reality. I completely agree the FCS isn't the top, but Beau will have a job for another 30 years at EWU a salary of 200-300k if he stayed. Not many people could say that. He risks all of that by leaving for a job at Nevada where he might have 4 years to turn them around. Could he do it...sure, if it was just up to Beau. But, at that level, it's a completely different ballgame than that of EWU.

In the end, he will do what's best and I'll be happy for him. He's a great guy and I'll thankful for what he's done for our program!

If he doesn't succeed at Nevada, he could get a 30 year job at the FCS at the same price again easily.

If he succeeds at Nevada, he will get a 1-2 million dollar contract for a school that can be an ACTUAL top 5 college program.

To get where you need to be, you have to take some risks. This is actually a very safe risk for Baldwin that could reap numerous rewards.

Old QB here that values a good offensive line. I have gone out to the EAGS early season practices for the last 6 years and really like the way Best coaches the OL. It is easy to see he is respected by the athletes and I am sure he has gained a ton of knowledge about head coaching over the years. I like the thought of an EAGLE having the opportunity to lead the team. Aaron Best should be the next head coach.

Rumor was here, but irrelevant now that the new rumor says Baldwin didn't get the job:

HOLY SHIT, we dodged one. Nevada going with the guy from Arizona state per Jim Allen

Nevada is making a huge mistake. They had a perfect candidate. A guy who had proven that he can kick ass with limited resources. A guy who can fire up a fanbase with an exciting high octane offense. A guy who creates a culture of pride and focus within a team.

And we get to keep him.

Agreed, I think other open jobs are longs shots (Cincinnati and Houston) with CBB being a west coast guy.

As they should be Nevada fans on twitter are NOT happy with the hire.

I 100% agree. Nevada made a huge mistake. I feel bad for Beau because he deserved this chance without a doubt, but I am selfishly smiling for my Eags.

What if you can have several of those...and more money? I think BB is going to win, would likely have a lot of comfort in his position, improve his quality of life, gain more control over the program, and improve his job security all because he is a dang good coach. And he will do that wherever he goes.

It at Nevada though, it would be an enormous longshot to ever be a top 5 program.
