I think you are wrong. UNC may have a gem here. I know some guys at CU and they said he was very good.
If you don't follow the QB "situation" in Boulder, you'd assume Lobato didn't get a shot because he wasn't talented. It's more complicated than that. Let's just say it's a huge hot button with the fans the way it's been decided. Or rather, not decided.
The reality is, for possibly another agenda entirely, they have pushed everybody out of the QB position (something like 7 or 8 QBs have moved positions or left the program in last two years.)
Seth was highly thought of by the players... don't count him out. He's a talented athlete including being named 2A first-team all-state quarterback by The Denver Post, and a standout in both track and basketball.

The 6-foot-5, 215-pound Eaton High School product told the Tribune that he believes he will have a better chance to compete for playing time at quarterback in Greeley.
Lobato joined the Buffs last fall as a preferred walk-on, and redshirted. He has four years of eligibility remaining and won`t have to sit out a year because he is dropping down from the Football Bowl Subdivision to the Football Championship Subdivision.

Some of you are saying we will be better at d-line, but I'll wait to see the product on the field. We've been god-awful in the trenches on both sides for a long time, I just don't have confidence.

I feel the D-line will be ok. I agree with the O-line though, that's probably the biggest weak spot of the team. Pretty much lack everything there depth, size and experience. But I hear the new O-Line coach is miles ahead what we had.

I don't know that I agree with your statement about depth, size and experience. You have at least the starting 5 o-linemen with experience as starters. You have McGraw, Barbiez, and Shapiro with at least two years of starting experience. You have Gumbs and Candler who played in multiple games as either a backup or starter. Then there are some new players coming in who might be able to contribute right away as well as a few RS freshmen and sophomores. As far as size is concerned. My educated guess is that the starting 5 will average close to 300 lbs and I've heard they are putting themselves in position to set some records in the weight room. I'll admit that it's probably depth that's the biggest concern if some of the starters get injured. I kind of have a feeling though that Bidell has been working the FBS drop-down ranks and the JC ranks to bring in some talent that can contribute right away to the o-line.
I agree with whoever said that it's probably QB that's going to determine how well the offense does this year. I've heard that the players like all of the QB's but surprisingly I've heard Dean's name mentioned quite often. What I'm wondering is if Peterson will use a two QB system with either Baca and Orms or Orms and Dean? Should be interesting and it all gets started in about 3 weeks. Really looking forward to info on this board by those who are able to attend fall practices on a regular basis.
A speedster at running back would be a welcome addition too.
