Keeler vs. Baldwin II - With National attention on our doorstep, lets hope we have the same outcome.

I think we absolutely throttle SHSU. They lose a TON of their talent and we bring back almost all of ours. Home game, ESPN, we win this going away. EWU and the Big Sky are due to absolutely throttle SHSU and that will be on 8/23.

I think we win by 20+

20+ points I don't think so. All smack aside unless you've gained a lot of defensive speed in the off season I don't see this game being very close at all. Speed is the big difference between the Southland and the Big Sky.

And unless Bell, Flanders, and Sincere are making a cameo for this game I think you're in for some disappointment. Also, last time I checked KC Keeler doesn't run the option, which is what we struggled with last season and just in general.

Speed is speed. We won't need Flanders or Bell so enough about that.

Flanders was a monster and the meerkats rode his back for four years. Flanders had 999 carries over that time. You need Flanders more than ever.

Again Keeler has brought in FBS transfers so it wont matter that we don't have those guys. Our top running back for this season was the backup to Flanders and is a very capable replacement. By the way we are still waiting to receive our 2012 and 2013 Big Sky Championship trophies. Maybe you lost the address?

Running around frantically trying to patch your broken team with FBS washups won't save you.

Fritz jumped ship when he saw it coming.

That was Keeler's MO at Delawhere.

But seriously, there is nothing to be excited about with their FBS transfers. Almost all of them transferred, because they weren't good enough to get a starting position. Only one of the transfers actually made an impact at the FBS level: Gerald Thomas.

Over half of them haven't played a game in college football. The other half warmed the bench.

In all fairness, this should be a good game. Despite their losses, they've brought in a good Head Coach and have had a lot of recent success so they should be talented again this season. I'm not sure how much the coaching change will effect things, but the bigger concern, if there is one, is how well they adjust to the new systems. Seems like whenever a team does that, it takes a while for things to gel. Also takes a while to recruit the right players to those systems. The transfers that they brought in a probably part of that process.

Keeler will adjust the offense to the strengths of the players he has now, don't be surprised to see some option.

Eastern Washington has transfers too were they not good enough to start on their previous teams?

Eastern picks up FBS transfers were actually good in the FBS. That is the difference.

Tevin McDonald was an FBS All American. Rashad Wadood played as a true freshman and was the expected starter for his team. Your FBS transfers are just the junior varsity team.

It was SHSU specific style of option, not just option in general. We wrecked Cal Poly's option.

Keeler won't run a pure option team. You're reaching dude.

kids transfer in or out for various reasons. Usually it's playing time but that is not always the case and sometimes you need to take a chance on a risky player if he deserves another chance.

Not to forget BLM who started at SMU and he did pretty well for the Eagles.

We had a great team returning in 2008, but with a new HC. The offense didn't even change that much. But we still struggled to 6-5.

We're going to curb stomp the beerkants.

browsed through their forum a little tonight, looks like most if their fans are pretty confident coming into Cheney.

In all honesty, if our team was 3-0 against someone, I would be confident going into the game as well.

That said, they are toast come August

Yes, and?

And history has a way of repeating itself sorry I thought that was obvious. We own you.

The only thing you own is this shirt, probably in the XXXL size.

IIRC, SELA had quite a few transfers come in last year and made it to the quarters. Probably the exception to the rule, but with the right coaching staff, it can be done.

On paper looks like a 14-17 pt win for EWU but let's wait to play the game before pointless predictions & trash talking vs a team EWU hasn't had much success against lately.

Keeler will use every trick in the book to try and win this game. He'll have to without Flanders, Sincere, or Bell. A win in Cheney would go a long way toward a decent seed in the playoffs for the Bearkats. Aside from the game at LSU, their schedule is soft enough to see them earn 9 wins. They'll need to beat us for those wins to mean anything come November.

Sounds like this game could be quite a track meet.

Picking up the pace
Keeler began installing his up-tempo offense during spring practice, then started from scratch again this summer to reinforce the terminology and concepts to his players.
Eventually, Keeler hopes the Bearkats will be able to run their opponents off the field.
“We want to have 100 (offensive) snaps per game,” Keeler said. “That’s a crazy goal to have, but that’s a goal I want to have. We’re not even close to doing that now and I can’t imagine we’re going to be that way the first couple of games this season. Maybe by game five or six, a lofty goal would be to get there. Early on, I think it’s more important that we play clean than anything else.”
