August 23rd vs Sam Houston State on ESPN

Okay, while I was at work my wife and daughter had the assignment to order tickets today for Sammy Houston. They said they ordered them online right at 10:00 AM when they went on sale and said the only thing available was section M, that's the North end of the East side bleachers. Now I know they sold more season tickets this year but I was surprised that the North end zone was already gone. I'm a little disappointed at the location :thumbdown: BUT on the other hand it sounds like it should be a full house. :thumb: Its okay as long as I don't have to sit with a bunch of SHSU fans. hno:
Anybody else get their tickets today and if so did you have any better luck?

I ordered my tonight at 11 pm, and got row 1 in section N (a little closer to midfield). I would think when you select best available, that it should select seats that are closer to the field, and then closer to midfield. I'm surprised you ended up in M when you ordered so early in the day. Maybe it was because you needed more tickets.

I, like you, hope this is a good sign that the game should be sold out!

Just spoke with a family member who bought tickets for the SHSU game and the only available tickets remaining are the North end zone and East side. :nod:

Ordered tickets - (10 of 'em!!!) at 10:00 a.m. on Friday and "best available" pulled up east side, but endzone seats were available, so I switched to that - I'm sure there will be some crazy Kat folks on the East side. Was hoping for something sideline in A or F, but no such luck. Looking more and more like this will be a sell-out.
Can't hardly wait!! GO EAGS!!

Ticket office said the West Side is only season tickets and students, nice to hear we have so many season tickets. We have a large group coming, was looking for some tix next to our season tix, had to settle for end zone.

I was slow getting my season ticket this year and gave them up initially, but came to my senses in May and by the time I decided to buy my 4 seats the picking was slim. My old seats were high up in section A near the isle of B. In May all that was left were the first row behind the students in A or F, the last 4 seats in F at the goal line, eastside or endzone. I wasn't sitting behind the students and I hate the eastside seats, so we are going to be loud and proud in the endzone this season.

SHSU fan here. 8/23/14 is going to be a HUGE day for FCS. Couldn't happen to two better programs. Looks like your fan base is in the process of selling out the joint. Represent the division!

Thanks for the invite! Tried to make that happen, but didn't work out. My tailgate buddies and I have organized a big watch party at a watering hole in Houston area. There will be a decent Sam contingent in Cheney as I understand it. I was sure that there would be an Alumni Charter of some sort...wishful thinking...best thing maybe because the schedule didn't work out and I'd have been pissed. Im not gunna gripe though, its an ideal opportunity for both schools to showcase....honestly, it still hasn't sunk in yet.

There is another Roster that came out yesterday. Rashad Wadood, is on this roster, also other Webster Brother, another QB from McMinnerville, Or, Gabe Gubrud,6'2" 190 lbs. I agree with all your comments reference the team and the outcome this year. My main concern is hoping we can keep the "Injury Bug" away from our team. We have presently have 96 Players on the Roster, once school starts, there will be more Players coming back. Like I said earlier in the blog, we will have the "Bulls Eye" on our back, we take one game at a time, we will be ok. Lets see how the team perform against SHSU, Aug. 23rd, @ 12:30hrs. If you haven't got tickets, there will likely be some coming available in August. They are holding out an allotment for students, but there will likely be less student tickets requested than usual since the game is so early. If that allotment isn't claimed by sometime in early August, they will be sent out for sale.

I already have tickets but out of curiosity I just tried the EWU ticket website and put in a request for 2 tickets and tried all the options, best available, end zone, east side and comes back with nothing. first I thought it was some kind of error message but when I try a single ticket it comes back with a result. Long story short I think the tickets must be about gone (sell out). I know they are holding back some for season tickets but sure they will release those the week of the game. Would nice to have a complete sell out at least a couple of weeks before the game if not sooner.

Awesome! I tried myself and got the following message:

The quantity of tickets requested is currently unavailable at this price level.
Please either select an alternate price level, decrease the number of tickets requested, or try again later to see if more seats have become available.

I think if additional tickets are released, they should sell quickly based on how these tickets sold out. I was a bit worried with the date being so early in the summer, and not having students back on campus yet.

The Shock play their last home game of the season Monday @ 5:30. Possibly the last chance to see Eric Meyer play football.

I've read the concerns of several of you but I don't see this as a dangerous game. Keeler is over rated as a HC. He will be putting an entire new offense in place with a number of inexperienced players.
I don't see the game as being as challenging as several we have on the BSC schedule.

Based on what I've seen thus far, I don't think implementing the new offense is going to be a big deal. Fritz's triple option had been progressively moved to more and more zone read formations the past two years. This offense is going to be an up tempo, zone read. Every QB on the roster with the exception of Cole Martin (recruit) have been playing in a zone read for years. Its a non issue IMHO. If they were installing a complex pro set like the Patriots then maybe, but not this one.

The issue is not having an experienced QB. The O-line and D-Line are the deepest with talent and returning starters and may be, on paper at least, the most talented in school history. That makes it easier for a new QB. That is the biggest issue concerning this game in my eyes. Obviously, you guys have the better, more experienced QB...that will be the big difference most likely.

But I don't expect the Coaching staff to come out and put the new QB (still undecided at this point) under pressure to win this game against a talented team on the road....me thinks the EWU defense is going to get another heavy dose of running game with Keshawn Hill and newcomer Donavan Williams. This will still be a better running team than any in the Big Sky IMHO. New OC had a 60% Run vs 40% Pass at his last school. Keeler wants to eventually run close to 100 offensive plays per game...we will be no where near that game one.

Its going to be a good one.
