BYU

ive never heard of any of their players but my opinion is it doesnt matter who they have starting or playing. it coudl be sac's team in byu uni's and we most likely still get a loss. trying to win in provo is worse than logan and it has nothing to do with weber state. somehow they never play poorly at home in 40 yrs but only half the time they play poorly in ogden?

its very coincidental i guess that we are 0-21 in provo and 10-9 at home.

if i sound like im complaining it is intentional.

i will say though that the 10 straight current losses to byu arent a big shocker, no dis to our team but byu has been very very good year to year under rose. he is the best coach they've ever had. our record at byu (0-18) and usu (8-22) are a good reason why its so important for us to win our home games. all road games are hard to win as it is so take care of the home schedule.

Rose is an amazing coach. He has definitely taken what he learned while playing for Houston in the early 80s, and applied it to his teams at BYU (not nearly as successful of course, but still effective). His teams run, cut, and shoot a high percentage of long-distance shots. If you let them run, Rose coached teams definitely make you pay. I'm shocked the Cougars have been able to hold onto him. Even though offensively his teams are strong, what makes him so effective, is his ability to utilize a variety of defensive schemes based on the style of offensive the team his club is facing.

As for the Marriott...yikes!! Catcat, have you ever traveled to the Marriott? I remember you had some strange streak that you never wanted to break. Something about not having stopped in Utah county in like 10 years. LOOOL Anyway, Lance Allred told a group of us once, that playing in the Marriott was totally freaky and weird. The floor was warped in places and really hard in other places. And since it is sooo big, it was hard to see the basket and to shoot from distance, which makes our inside game sooo important for Friday's game. Gotta own the paint and make them take shoots from outside. Then take their run and gun style of offense and shove it down their throats. Can't let them push us away from the hoop like last year.

i went to marriott center like maybe 3-4 yrs ago and learned to never go back. i couldnt even see the players and i have 20-17 vision.

Frankly, this is the kind of crap that comes out of BYU. Absolutely embarrassing!! Ridiculous how an athletics department would allow this kind of garbage. Please all out of state individuals, know that this kind of embarrassing behavior usually only occurs in Happy (due to the propensity to utilize pain killers and any other type of uppers, PROZAC) Valley. Not in the rest of Utah.

I thought being openly gAy wasn't allowed at BYU. guess I was proven wrong with this little video :? . One day I really wish that the rest of the State would kick Utah County out and make them be their own little state full of weirdos. :thumb: For those of you going down to the game, DO NOT DRINK THE WATER. You may come back to Ogden a changed person and NOT in a good way.

Key's to the game?

1. Contain Haws and Carlino.
2. Own the glass.
3. Keep the turnovers low
4. Break the Y's zone. They can't beat us playing man to man.

I'd add keeping Joel and Big Tres out of foul trouble, and make our freebies.

In his interview Rahe says the keys are slowing the pace by limiting BYU's ability to run, and rebound, rebound, rebound.

The Y has some excellent rebounding guards. Haws and Collingsworth both know how to crash the boards. If there is one thing that the true freshman Mika can do to hurt the Cats is grabbing rebounds and getting some put back. The Cats have got to block out and not let the Cougars get second chances. While limiting the Cougars chances, Rahe's Running Cats have got to take full advantage of any second chances the Cats can get.

Any word on what color of uniforms we will be wearing tonight? I hope we break out the new black ones. We pulled the greatest upset in school history in black uniforms we need some of that mojo tonight.

It's a great day to wear purple. Who is sporting their Weber gear at the office today?
