Coaching NEWS

Even when we lost to them last year we still went to playoffs over them and won a playoff game. This was a great opportunity for them to win a BSC championship
They had a good but sloppy game w 5 turnovers?

The last throw by QB UCD Hastings tons f his career was an INT he threw into coverage of 4 defenders.

Not how you’d like to remember your collegiate carers very last throw!!!! That does stink.

Guaranteed not much worse, if any.

It’ll be a difficult challenge to be worse than 3-9 if given the same talent and ready-made system.
We've been worse, much worse...which is why I never understood all the outrage given the circumstances surrounding this season (KB quitting and the injuries).

Yes, all the crap their board talks about Sac St like they’re superior. But this was their best team in D1 era and they didn’t even win conference, had one home playoff win with 6k fans and then got handle by SD today. Those turds really need to be quiet until they roll off some conference championships
Spot on. All that winning they did and they have no hardware to show for it...and Hastings goes out with 5 picks?!? That's comically bad. Lol, lmao even.

Put a little respect on the QB that gave this school half of its playoff Division 1 win. Like the same respect you gave the head coach for the same accolade.

I've heard/read rumors that Luke Wood led this coaching search and that Mark Orr was more of a bystander. I don't pretend to know whether there's truth to it or not. Although judging from recent quotes and social media posts from Wood, his brother, and other sources, I wouldn't be shocked if this was the case.

If true, let's all hope he made the right choice.

Love this move....I've been arguing since November that teams have to have innovative offensive minds at this level to succeed. Thompson's move will end up working out for the best if this happens

I hate to be the “I was going to say that!” Guy but here I am… Brennan Marions name has become popular in the last handful of seasons for being an innovative offensive mind and I wanted to suggest his name on this board but I figured his opportunities would go toward the power 5 route as a coordinator soon enough or would follow Barry Odom to Purdue… if this hire ends up true I think we should all be taking a deep sigh of relief and be very pleased with this direction.

glad to hear Coach Marion is closing in on being the HC hire. If you take a look at his offense, an offense that he invented, Go-Go offense, it’s the most dynamic offensive we’ve had. I hate to say it, but KB is a perfect for it! Not sure how well Conklin will do in it but honestly I think coach Marion would be able to adjust based on his talent (what an idea, for once a coach that knows how to put players in best positions), We’ll know how Conklin feels about it very soon (if Coach Marion is hired), Conklin will go into the portal if he’s not happy with the outcome.

I was hearing good things and it was a team effort Orr & Wood on the coaching decision.

MV was also seriously in contention but Merian and his GoGo Offense w success as OC UNLV was a better decision,

Carson Conklin will have a great mentor now and he will thrive in Year 2.

They should raise season ticket prices and send out Christmas package deal as gifts people can buy or gift to Hornet Fans!
