Rumors are bouncing around that Jim McElwain is being pursued by Florida and Nebraska. You'd have to think that Colorado State program would reach out to Baldwin.

With Jims recommendations I am sure.

You guys didn't happen to run into our AD last week, did you? I guess he was in the Spokane area on "some business". Heck of a time for someone to be distracted from preparing for a big upcoming game......

Pathetic. Take your crap back to egriz and join the rest of your buddies in begging Dave Dickenson to return to UM.

Montana was the stronger program before Boise left

No, it wasn't.

Only the biggest Griz homer would truly believe that. Not sure why you guys can't just admit that Montana benefitted from a weaker, waterered down Big Sky Conference for most of your run? Anyone with any knowledge of the Big Sky knows that. It's nothing to be ashamed about and it was still a very impressive run.

Missed that. We were all too busy enjoying the annual Thanksgiving bye week.

That's quite a 3 year tradition yall got going. I'm reluctant to call it a trend as that would infer some statistical significance (a subject which would be lost on all members of the C17, with the exception of yourself).

Do you make cornbread stuffing for your gluten free Thanksgiving? I've got a great recipe for it, if that's your type of thing.

Since 2010:

Big Sky Championships

Eastern Washington: 4
Montana: Zero

Playoff Appearances

Eastern Washington: 4
Montana: 2

Semi-Final Appearances

Eastern Washington: 3
Montana: Zero

National Championships

Eastern Washington: 1
Montana: Zero

You may not think that's a trend, but most people would disagree.

/trend/

noun

noun: trend; plural noun: trends

1. a general direction in which something is developing or changing.

"an upward trend in sales and profit margins"

Ya, heard it too. He was looking for a job because he knows the griz are getting their ass kicked this weekend and he wants to join a winner...no joke

Unless the AD is coaching the team, don't see this as an issue for the Griz. :sarcasm:

Sorry, I don't do mushrooms.

Here's some more coaching rumor for you though, from a reputable source.

Since when is Egriz a reliable source?

I took a peek at some of the crap posted over there this evening and it is apparent that those posting there are out of touch. They seem to forget that we have won 4 out of 5 games in the series. There seems to be a majority of Griz fans that actually think we have beat them 4 out of 5 games and 3 in a row because of poor referees and bad breaks. They think that Johnson is as good as VA, but the times we played before "JJ" was just being held back by conservative play calling.

It seems like the folks on Egriz are stuck in the past and think if they just repeat themselves enough the glory years will be back again. Unfortunately for the Griz it is 2014 and we just have a better football team then them and it has been that way for the last 5 years.

You would think it would be obvious to them. They are just not very bright.

A Billings Gazette reporter is saying that Coach B has put in for the grizz job. I'm not gonna lie, that has got me a little nervous...

Hopefully it is a similar deal to when he applied for the Weber job.

Yep. Not sure what's in it for Colter as the MSU guy to give the Griz hope that Coach B would be serious about the role. Would rather see him go OC at a Big 5 conference school if he were to leave, there are a lot of good fits out there. 2014 Natty first Coach. ;-)

I think everyone on here would admit that losing Coach B would be a huge blow - especially losing him to a program like Montana. At this point I think it's safe to say that it's a real possibility and not just some conjecture drummed up on Egriz. And let's be honest. Losing him is has been a real possibiity every year since 2010, and it'll continue to be that way until he finally does, or decides that he wants to stay at Eastern for the long haul.

But what I will offer is this - if he goes, then he goes. No matter what I'll always be grateful for what he and his staff have done to build up the program...the Natty, and on and on. If he ends up at Montana, I don think I could root for him, but that's largely because of my immense disdain for UM and everything associated with it more than anything else. I'd probably root for him anywhere else that he went.

That said, I think we have a very good AD. He hired Baldwin in the first place, and I am very confident that he'd be able to find the right guy again. If we have to replace Coach B, there will be no shortage of qualified candidates to choose from. We'll find the right guy, and move on.

And if he stays, then all the better...but EWU football will be just fine either way.
